Sens have actually used the 3D logo as the main (dark/mostly home) jersey for a much longer period of time than they used the 2D logo. Nearly two decades. I would take any twitter or online polls congregated by most hardcore fans with a grain of salt. I don't want the 3D jerseys, and I think the Senators are ripe for a complete rebrand, but I also don't think there is as much dislike towards the current look from casual fans who make up the majority if the fanbase. Even with the 2D jerseys being sold at retail for the last 2 or so years via CCM's Vintage line, I don't see many of them on younger fans at the CTC. The majority of what I see seems to be the red jersey. Out of the people I know who aren't older hardcore fans who grew up in the 90s, I don't think I've ever heard someone trash the current logo.

This will never be Montreal and this will never be Toronto,” Anselmi said. “But nobody else can be Ottawa and the nation’s capital.
Judging by some of the things that have been said by Anselmi, my guess would be we'll eventually rebrand with something that heavily alludes to the Senators role as an original multi-cup winning NHL team and the cities role as the capital of Canada. Unless I am reading too far into what he is saying and he isn't even referring to the look of the team, I could see a complete step away from the centurion branding and either going with the O logo full time, or going with something similar to the original Parliament logo that screams capital of Canada and has some sort of link to actual Ottawa culture.
If they go with a new Heritage, I think it'd look more like a direct copy of the original barber pole jerseys. Benji posted this one a while back, throw the O on here and that's probably close to what I'd envision if they are going in that direction.
Ultimately, I don't think we should expect a rebrand right away. Unless we luck out and they can somehow go in a completely different direction at this point, I think whatever branding they previously chose for the new Adidas jerseys is locked in place and has to be kept for whatever the NHL minimum is (2 seasons?).
Although, they could always rebrand in 2018 with a new alternate jersey that has the rebranded vision and then after the correct amount of time move that jersey to being the main jersey with an away version added and the previous Adidas jerseys retired.
