Sens have actually used the 3D logo as the main (dark/mostly home) jersey for a much longer period of time than they used the 2D logo. Nearly two decades. I would take any twitter or online polls congregated by most hardcore fans with a grain of salt. I don't want the 3D jerseys, and I think the Senators are ripe for a complete rebrand, but I also don't think there is as much dislike towards the current look from casual fans who make up the majority if the fanbase. Even with the 2D jerseys being sold at retail for the last 2 or so years via CCM's Vintage line, I don't see many of them on younger fans at the CTC. The majority of what I see seems to be the red jersey. Out of the people I know who aren't older hardcore fans who grew up in the 90s, I don't think I've ever heard someone trash the current logo.

Tom Anselmi said:
This will never be Montreal and this will never be Toronto,” Anselmi said. “But nobody else can be Ottawa and the nation’s capital.

Judging by some of the things that have been said by Anselmi, my guess would be we'll eventually rebrand with something that heavily alludes to the Senators role as an original multi-cup winning NHL team and the cities role as the capital of Canada. Unless I am reading too far into what he is saying and he isn't even referring to the look of the team, I could see a complete step away from the centurion branding and either going with the O logo full time, or going with something similar to the original Parliament logo that screams capital of Canada and has some sort of link to actual Ottawa culture.

If they go with a new Heritage, I think it'd look more like a direct copy of the original barber pole jerseys. Benji posted this one a while back, throw the O on here and that's probably close to what I'd envision if they are going in that direction.

Ultimately, I don't think we should expect a rebrand right away. Unless we luck out and they can somehow go in a completely different direction at this point, I think whatever branding they previously chose for the new Adidas jerseys is locked in place and has to be kept for whatever the NHL minimum is (2 seasons?).

Although, they could always rebrand in 2018 with a new alternate jersey that has the rebranded vision and then after the correct amount of time move that jersey to being the main jersey with an away version added and the previous Adidas jerseys retired.

Research how much of a impact the logging community had with out them there likely would be no Ottawa.

Redblacks already have that imagery on lockdown. Should the Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies change their names to something more in line with the 76ers? After all, the American revolutionary movement defined much of Philadelphia's early history as a major city...;)

The should go with the O,simple and classy with historical ties.
The centurion looks too much like a cartoon.

Hated the red jerseys when they were introduced as the third jersey in the late 90's/early 00's. The logo is garbage. When they made those the permanent road jersey, I threw up in my mouth. Black on the road, White at home. Why mess with it?

Don't get me started on those "Sens" jerseys. Looks like some cheap knockoff you'd buy at Walmart. I'd like to punch whoever designed those in the ****ing throat.

My preference is something like this:

Everything Jerk Story posts on here

....

Everything that other fans post on here

....

Our actual jerseys.

Jerk Store's red design is so awesome. I'd happily buy one right now if it was possible to get one made. Someone get China on the phone.

I hear a lot of people say that only hardcore Sens fans want the original 2D logo back, that's not true at all, I have a lot of casual Sens fans and almost all of them say the 2D was easily their best logo. It's just a nice logo to look at that reminds people of the best times of the franchise. You can't go wrong switching back to them, like it's such a safe move (considering the jerseys that they appeared on were very simple jerseys too) that it's be almost stupid not to go back.

Like just look at these, a simple classy design that has some history to it.

its absolutely embarrassing how we dont resort back to the 2d logo when its clear its what best symbolizes this market, this team and this history.

I dont even know why we arent resorting back to it. Ego?

Incompetence, I would think, considering the bulk of their marketing department's work.

apparently there will be no alternates next year, so.....there needs to be a choice between the O heritage or the 3D logo for next year. Correct?

If so, then the choice should be as easy as possible. And I'm going to expect and predict now that the O heritage is our new jersey next year.

That would be amazing.

They wore the 3D logo on their dark jersey during their most successful years, unless you're just talking about the nostalgia of getting a team. Ultimately, the 3D logo in both iterations have been used longer than the 2D logo as the main dark jersey logo.

I prefer the 2D over the 3D. But I don't think the 2D logo is anymore historical than the 3D one. I think the word people might be looking for is nostalgic.

The 2D logo was still the primary logo used by the team during their contending years. They used it on their white jersey's, center ice, a majority of merchandise... Even in the NHL games when picking a team it was the 2d logo being used.

Canucks (skate) and caps (stick) had two of the best logos in hockey and they walked away from them. Don't want that to be the sens.

You and I have very different tastes, then. I don't hate either of those logos, but they're both average at best to me. The Sens' inaugural uniforms beat both handily in my eyes. Heck, I'd take the old parliament logos over both of those quite handily.

Hopefully the Adidas jerseys dont have the NHL logo on the collar, much cleaner looking without that

Quoted for emphasis.

"A clean, simple, timeless design — the kind you see with the Canadiens, Yankees, and Cowboys — is not only better," said Callaghan. "It reflects a brand that is confident, proud, and doesn't need to chase trends.

From the dismissal of (anthem singer) Lyndon Slewidge, to the lacklustre 25th anniversary logo, to the disappearance of the white heritage jersey, to ditching the Sens theme, the team doesn't embrace its history like a strong, proud Canadian hockey market should," Callaghan said.

This isn't Tampa Bay or Phoenix, the brand should be timeless.

I like how the article even contained a pic of Jerkstore's latest vision for a jersey. I like it a lot.

This Jersey idea is so sick. Please ditch the 3D logo, it looks so amateurish and I've hated it for years. Rotate between this proposed jersey, the heritage jerseys and the original 2D one. I honestly think we would have some of the best looking jerseys in the league, but I really like the proposed one though. I hope they make it a reality

People basically want to throw money at the sens for a jersey with a new logo or new jerseys entirely. Any reason for the sens not to change? Do they not benefit financially or something

Our original jerseys where our best ever, we should bring them on full time as our home jerseys.
