Baertschi is overrated by a significant amount. Thought that 2015 1st could easily be top 10 in one of the deeper drafts that we will see.

I don't see the Giordano appeal. He's older and a couple years out from a huge payday... that's the same timeline that Erik Johnson + Nathan MacKinnon have for their next contracts. Plus, we have no idea what to expect from him going forward... plenty of examples of guys that excel when they're 'the guy' but fail when surrounded with talent. He's had 2/3 of a first pairing season thus far and the rest of the time has been a good #2/3 defender.

It's not like 6M is gonna be a limit when the UFA negotiations set in. No one has been getting paid better than Kane and Toews untill now.

MacK will be the first one to break the structure if he lives up to his potential. Towes and Kane are elite players, and get paid like elite players.
