In case anyone still thinks McDavid isn’t a great playoff performer, know this.

He should have a lot of points. Not many teams have their top guys play half the game for the past few seasons and don't trust their depth.

Edmonton fans love to shit on their depth until they start winning. Now they claim they have some of the best depth. Like I said, depth is good for any team when succeeding. It sucks when the team doesn't. Fans can't make up their mind.
23 minutes per game is the higher end of forward usage for sure but it’s not what you’re making it out to be. 23:02 last season

For context career averages for (playoffs)
MacKinnon -22:18
Mcdavid -23:23

The lower end for players of this caliber being 21 ish

That's fair.

So what's the solution? Does he continue to be the victim of a sub-championship organization? Oilers management failed to build a championship team around him. That's what I keep reading anyway.

Either he stays and suffers under failing management or he leaves and breaks the hearts of all his fans. Both of these options suck. Maybe he'll sign elsewhere.

The best solution for McDavid, the Oilers, the fans, and the league would be for him to win a championship this year.
I can’t believe the Oilers have never thought they should try just winning? Such a bold strategy!

You act like this is 2012 talking about rookie Jagr winning the Cup with the Pens in 1990. It was 2022 and MacKinnon was monstrous in that run and clinching game. And this year specifically, MacKinnon was great. Everyone else sucked.

Also talk shit about MacKinnon when you have a pic of McDavid like this.

I mean in the last 3 seasons. MacKinnon has been a total choker. 2 first round knockouts. What an embarrassment. He needs to get back to being hungry for the cup instead of all fat and sassy.

Don't know a single person in the world who dosen't think McDavid is a playoff performer outside of the 3 Mckinnon stans and the one crosby guy on here

There are a few Toronto fans like the cryptoking-wannabe named after the wolf of WS, and quite a few Calgary fans. He's got quite a few haters spread over a few fanbase.

Damn, that's insane, almost 2 points per playoff game on average

Even more insane, he has 85 primary points in those 60 games, including 57 primary assists. The only player to ever get more A1s in that many playoff games was Gretzky. He has 68 ES points too.

Basically, in the last 4 playoffs, he's pacing (1.80) almost as much as his best career season (1.87)

I think a lengthy, 35+ point post season this year would cement him as the best playoff player (or at least forward) of all the guys that have started this century.

He simply dominates out there. He makes teams fall to pieces and good players look silly. Guys like Crosby, Malkin, Kucherov were beasts at their best, but he's on another level when he gets going.

As will MacKinnon/Makar. I wish they had the Pacific to beat up and start trying in the WCF, but McDavid may have challenges finally when he goes to the Atlantic.

Were not talknig about Pat Maroon here.
They have some overlap in who they have played, lets see how that turns out

Mcdavid and Mackinnon have both played, Dallas and Vegas and each other

Mcdavid:
Against Vegas
6GP 5G 5A 10P

Against Calgary
5GP 3G 9A 12P

Against Colorado
4GP 3G 4A 7P

Against Dallas
6GP 3G 7A 10P Again

and since you said he finds it challenging against the atlantic ill throw the florida teams in
Against Florida
7GP 3G 8A 11P...

Total
23GP 14G 27A 41P (1.78 PPG)

then he also has 2 in 1 rn against vegas

Mackinnon
Against Dallas (total)
20GP 14G 14A 28P

Against Vegas
6GP 2G 4A 6P

Against Edmonton
4GP 3G 2A 5P

Against Tampa
6GP 2G 4A 6P

Total
36GP 21G 24A 45P (1.25 PPG)

Mack couldn't dominate the teams both played as badly as Mcdavid, so why would he "feast as much as Mcdavid against the other teams".

If you swap Mack and Mcdavid I doubt both teams come out equal, Colorado comes out way better.

Mcdavid is a different level, even compared to kucherov and mackinnon

I feel like he already cemented that when he won the Conn Smythe last year.

Shockingly, team with best player in world likes to have the best player in the world on the ice more than worse players

People think the player who just had the 4th highest scoring postseason of all time (highest this side of Gretzky and Lemieux) isn't a great playoff performer?

He has 108 points over 60 games in his past 4 postseasons.

But if the Oilers don’t win the Cup, it will solely be his fault according to some.

Whoa, had no idea. Thanks for that deep insight. So.. I thought Edmonton had a super deep roster and management had done really well. You’re saying.. no?

Rantanen challenging for the Conn Smythe.

I imagine it would be between McDavid and Rantanen at this point.
