IMO all too much time spent here analyzing Rempe impact on games. He's 12F when in the lineup and by definition he's contribution is minimal in absolute sense given his role or incrementally vs. replacement.

Now he's been a part of the 4th line that as a group has performed admirably recently.
But he's fun to watch and talk about.
That's okay, no ?

DJsleepy and the carcas of what used to be Chris Kreider with another brain dead uninspiring half assed game last night.

CK earned his paycheck with 1 shot all night while sleepy again played his quaalude inspired stumbling bumbling turnover dance routine.

Spoon-feeding these 2 prime PP1 minutes is criminal.

Defensively the difference is obvious. Even miller seems like he's paying attention and actually trying. Borg and Val have settled this group down. It's fun to watch all the forwards ( not breadman) buy in too.

The sooner 93 and 20 are gone, the sooner we can actually buy in to this playoff push stuff. Let's not forget. Neither of those guys are really playoff types anyway.

"I just got a couple punches from Tkachuk," Shesterkin said with a laugh after the win. "To be honest, there was a hit on me [before the whistle], and I didn't really enjoy it. ... So, I just wanted to go over and hold him, and if he wanted to fight, it's tough for me, because I cannot drop my gloves."

Rangers forward Matt Rempe, who is known for fighting and has no problem dropping his gloves, was a part of the mix behind the net, as well.

"I was a little nervous because I don't want anything to happen to him," Rempe said of seeing his goaltender involved in the scrap. "But I love it because he's a competitor, and I just wanted to make sure I get in there and nothing happens to him."

Rangers coach Peter Laviolette enjoyed the moment, as well, telling reporters after the win, "That's hockey, man."

Last night's game was such a classic. You gotta love it.

I just can't get over how different this defense looks with the addition of Vaak and Borgen on a nightly basis. Both guys compete for space, skate well, can move the puck pretty well and have good size. Neither will break the bank. Specifically Vaak. I followed him for the last couple of seasons and thought he would be a good buy-low kind of guy who could be effective but he has really helps stabilize that 3rd pairing and it's nothing flashy. good body positioning, good stick work, he doesn't get walked as his skating is good. Just a really good find by this front office

Drury said he kept an eye on Borgen for a long time. Seems you did the same with Vaakanainen. Both of you came out winners.

At what point are you guys going to let this schtick die. You are clowning on yourselves at this point.

Top 3 lines by xGF last night.

Zibanejad line: 72.98
Carrick line: 70.06
Trocheck line: 63.61

Either this chart is meaningless or the commenter's here on who played well and who didn't are wrong.
They have painted themselves so far into the corner that all they can do at this point is to keep regurgitating their talking points..

Unironically, you're one of the ones I was referring to.
I know.

People like me don’t want them to lose to “be right” ; it’s the only way to see meaningful change.

We don’t see the point in scratching a clawing to desperately get the 8th seed and then lose in the 1st round again.

This is where you're wrong in that regard and it took me a couple weeks even during the losing to open up to it.

Changes are happening regardless of how this iteration of the Rangers performs. It is no longer dependant on how they do the rest of the way, in a realistic sense.

I guess they could just keep going and push further than anyone could expect, but this team has gone to G6 ECF in two of three years, but outside of winning it all, they're making moves and not on the margins.

If we weren’t ahead by 2 goals, Rempe would not have seen the ice and would not have impacted the game, and since we were already ahead by multiple goals, did he?
didn’t someone last night describe his goal as “arguably the turning point in the game”?

A goal to go up 3-0…in a game where the other team got shut out…in a game where the other team got 1 high danger scoring chance through 60 minutes…

Guys, we beat the Devils, the Golden Knights and embarrassed the Senators. Made Brady look like a cry baby who has nothing special offensively and quite obviously needs the refs to protect and favor him. Wtf with his hitting Borgen and then a penalty called on us. Total bs. Anyway, our team is very good even with Kreider and Mika not playing as well as they can. Our defense is now good it used to be horrible. Rempe adds an undeniable snarl and intimidation factor. Just enjoy the moment and savor last nights win. It was a magnificent Big W.

I'll tell you what if we play shitty, squeak out games we should lose and look like we'd get booted in the first round... I'd prefer we just tank. But games like last night? How could anyone NOT enjoy that win?
It was their best game in forever. If they keep playing like that it’s a different story.

I hope you’re right.
