I am being impatient and looking for news, any news on start date for our first playoff game. I’m sure there are peeps here who may have some insider info!

We’ve got a large family Easter dinner planned for Saturday that we are hosting. Was looking like maybe we were going to be a Sunday start due to BTO on Saturday, but saw it mentioned here about them possibly moving BTO to Sunday and us being second fiddle to Leafs on Saturday. I’ve heard the rumours from a couple people now. Apparently another concert on Tuesday too..

My wife says it’s ok, go to the game Saturday if that’s when it is…that sounds like a trap! :laugh:

Buddy and I have tix for all games, but I love getting out to first playoff game of the year! Missed last year’s first game too as was at a family wedding in Victoria!

Of course no concerns on getting rid of the ticket…I just selfishly want to be there!

Many of the media with sources(Friedman among others) said anyone playing thursday wont play saturday. Calgary plays thursday, the other two don't.

Leafs play thursday, Caps play thursday(Montreal).

Jets will likely be the Saturday 6pm headliner if the Flames miss. Then we'll get screwed over with late starts after that :laugh:

I remember there was similar speculation last year - and it ended up being on the Sunday anyways.

This is all just theory (even if based on good premise). Until we actually get it announced - I’d hold off on making plans.
 
They are still selling tickets to BTO as I just checked TicketMaster. I can't imagine they would change venues at the last minute. I recall the last few years the NHL with this ridiculous idea of having some teams start on day 3 of the playoffs so don't be surprised if we get Monday at 9 pm. :cool:
But right now I am planning on game 1 being on Sunday. It could even be a matinee.

Like others gave said. It is 100% Saturday if the Jets play Minny or St louis

What is not 100% is game time. With Toronto and Montreal and Ottawa making the playoffs I would assume we will be late game so I think Saturday at around 9PM give or take

If it's Calgary than BTO is Saturday If not Calgary than BTO will be moved.

I came across something saying the BTO tickets weren't selling that well and that they might move the concert to the concert hall or the Burt. Just speculation AFAIK.

They've got a 2 for 1 sale on right now.

As far as I can see, the only teams that are finished by Wednesday are Jets vs Minny or St. Louis. If the Flames somehow get in, they play Thursday soooo...

Dallas vs. Avs would be finished by Wednesday.

No two teams playing each other are finished by Wednesday in the East.

:laugh: I don't hate the Leafs much (some). I hate SN a lot. Not only because they kowtow to Teranna. TSN does that too. But SN seems to delight in deliberately snubbing everyone else, especially Winnerpeg. Wish I could get American coverage of the PO.

I’d be pretty certain the series will start Sunday, regardless of who they’re playing.
 
There only 3 series that could start Saturday, so they could just kick off with a single game or doubleheader of Avs/Stars and Knights/Blues(or Wild). If they want a busier Saturday the only other thing they could add would be the Winnipeg series as long as it's not Calgary. Maybe Sportsnet would really like to have a Canadian team playing on Saturday. I could see them starting light on Saturday and then having a full slate on Sunday. It also wouldnt suprose me to see a series or two with a delayed start to Mondah. The big Sunday ticket at the start would line up some key series to have their game 4s the following Saturday, and with a 2 day break for select series have them run on the Sunday.
