The thing is, NDS and the agent said everything was done before even completely settling the package. That's amateur move #1 in all of this.

Couldn't have they simply made a side written document to guarantee the package just so Briand could sleep at night? Obviously, the Impact just didn't wanna make him DP. I don't know, but I think I've read somewhere if they sign a 3rd DP they can't use their TAM money. But they could've used it on Taider before signing Briand which leads me to believe two things: The amount of TAM they have is not enough to a)Bring down Taider to TAM status b)Keep Briand as TAM player WITH the package.

Is Mancosu on TAM, because if he is...

The problem with NDS is that he negociated the contract and called it done without it actually being done. It's as if they completely ignored how the package affected the deal until the last minute. Both he and the agent are to blame.

Can't blame De Santis on this one IMO, it's clear he did a good job in negotiations (No DP status, cheap transfer, etc.) and the decision to close the negos in the end was up to Saputo, not him.

The non DP status and cheap transfer is more about Briand wanting to GTFO from Guingamp and come here. All NDS had to do was not screw up.

It's out of his reach though. NDS and Briand's agent have been in touch for months. He isn't the one that would provide whatever was included in that package (car, housing and school), that's on Saputo, he couldn't guarentee anything on Saputo's behalf because the money doesn't come out of his pockets. So thats between the agent and Saputo. Based on the agent's version Saputo seemed to be disinterested and reluctant. Indeed. The whole process needs improvement. The team needs to hire a proper scouting staff.

That's my understanding as well. The more I think about the press release, the more it seems that the team has another CF in the pipeline.

Like I said because it was beyond salaries. NDS cant give a yes or a no to 'I want a car and a house' so he speaks to the owner directly. Not hard to grasp, it happens in every single field existing.

Anyway its not about Saputos money. Its about MLS salaries, with those extra written demands Briand asked, he becomes a DP and the team cant use allocation money to bring him down as non DP as it would exceed the 1.5 million limit. The team didnt seem interested in making Briand a DP.
