Offense is top 10
D is top 10
Goaltending is top 10, not just better than you expected
Team is top 5 in the NHL
They have as much cap flexibility as almost any cup contender to make trades and unlike many, have draft picks.

....and they have done all of that while being arguably the team most affected by injuries in the NHL:



You are missing a helluva season really. We finally have an elite team and you compare them to those barely bubble team failures?

They are 7th in Goals For and 8th in Goals Against...... Worse in goals for (2nd) and better in goals against (18th) compared to last year. Not exactly that interesting.

They are 4th in Point% in the NHL, exactly the same as last year. And once again have the President's Trophy winner in their division.

I don't give a f*** about injuries, how does that make the game more interesting.

Yeah that's very VERY not true.

I'm with the OP, its hard to get enthused by this years vanilla boring soulless team. There is nothing in this team that looks any different than the previous 2 seasons. Virtually the same points record after 48 games. I have zero faith that they will get past the first round. Toronto Vanilla Leafs.
