The KHL was only founded in 2008 but Vasilevski, Bobrovsky, Khudobin, Koskinen, Samsonov, Shestyorkin, and Francouz, have all spent time in the KHL and I'm not sure which you'd consider an above average starter, maybe four of those right now?
I'm not suggesting this is your position, but looking at countries historically and their production of players is not a great way to determine if players from that country will be good. It's all about growth and it seems like there's a new wave of goalies from Russia that everyone is high on.
