Ill-timed Stone puck dive causes Heiskanen to blow out his knee

I absolutely don't think Stone was trying to injure anyone. In fact, I doubt any player actually tries to injure anyone (perhaps years ago it was different). That's where I think about "intent to injure" does any professional hockey player actually have an "intent to injure" someone these days? I know there are a lot of dirty players, but even those guys, a lot of the time they are looking to hurt a guy, but not to the extent of injuring them so they can't play....problem is that make dangerous plays that can result in that.

With the Stone play, I think he took the little trip as an excuse to fall into the other guy.....oops, to see if he could get away with taking him out, that's all in was, you don't think about that as potentially hurting the player, just trying to stop him....but you don't want guys doing that, because it can be dangerous and can result in injury when you are falling towards a guys legs/knees.

I'm relatively sure they wouldn't try to Injure someone by performing a play much more likely to concuss themselves.

Throwing your face into someone's striding knee isn't the most likely of scenarios you think "let's try this". Generally the knee always wins against the head even with a helmet

Blame all you want. He toe picked. Possibly partly due to the tap from Hintz. Which btw did not hit his skate.

To me it actually looks like he toe picked mainly because he was reaching out a bit awkwardly and Heiskanen made a strong move on him.

Honestly, if you make an illegal play (diving is technically illegal) and it causes someone else to get injured on the play, then it should warrant a 2nd look. Fine or 1 game suspension for embellishment if Heiskanen is hurt. If you do something totally unnecessary for the play to draw a call and hurt someone doing so, then thats on you.

I mean, I could get the "toe pick" or "he was tripped" thing IF he didn't completely change his direction and momentum with his UPPER body...prior to the touch he was moving to the right, then he basically stops and lunges to his left. If he was tripped or toe picks, you fall in the direction you were going, not 45-90 degrees the other direction. Not that he necessarily did it on purpose, he was lunging for the puck, but it was a dumbass reckless play at the very least.

Now unfortunately instead of him breaking his nose, he broke Heiskanen's knee.
