I'll get pummeled for this, but what about

Should we bring Lucic back?

Just saying its Monday morning quarterbacking.

The team has the best regular season in league history but gee, we sure could have used Lucic.

60% of this site is MMQB’ing.

And, now that the best regular season team in history choked away the chance to be more than that, I can’t see how it’s a problem to wonder why and how it could have been avoided.

With that being said, looking ahead, if they’re going to have a 4th line, they could do worse than him, provided the money makes sense.

Agreed.

Doesn't mean it's not ridiculous.

We all would love to see Lucic back. But...

1. Does he want to come back? We all know why he left in the first place; if not, you haven't been paying attention

2. Lucic was eviscerated here on the boards for his play in his final season here. Maybe it would be different now because expectations aren't the same as they were when he was only 26.

Perhaps we have our wires crossed here.

I know (or I think I know) one reason why Tyler Seguin was dealt to the Stars on Indepedence Day, 2013/.

I know (or think I know) one reason why Nathan Horton wanted out.

I have never heard anything approximating that scenario relative to Milan.

I freely admit this is all hypothetical.

However, if this becomes anything like a possibility, money will not be an issue.

For years, the Bruins' best players have taken less -- a lot less -- than market value to stay with the club and be part of something pretty special.

If Lucic somewhow finds his way back to Boston, he will do so at the bare minimum.

For love, not money.

I would have taken Lucic at last year trade deadline...in a heartbeat.

I don't know how Boston fans will go with the current Bruins and next year perspective.... and I can see Lucic part of this past core that alot of fans are actually calling chocker....

I prefer him being remembered 2011 Lucic and not hearing him being booed! If I'm Lucic, I avoid coming back!!!

After the shit sandwich that was the ending of this season, we need something to bring the joy back, and Looch will always have a special place in my heart and seeing him in a B's jersey again would make me smile.

At league minimum, on the 4th line, what's there to lose? We know by now that regular season doesn't mean shit. Give the people some entertainment and a reason to come to the Garden.

He left because his dad killed himself and he needed to be on the west coast for his family at the time. It was never on bad terms with the Bruins or Boston. lucic has had nothing but praise for the city and the organization the whole time.

Yes, I know. Sometimes i feel like a broken record because everytime someone on here laments the Bruins traded Lucic, i end up reminding them why. I don't know what his family dynamic is now, so I have no idea if he's comfortable with coming back East for a final year.

He will be lucky to get 1yr/$1mil from someone. While the sentiment is nice, they have enough cap issues as it stands. Need every dollar they can scrounge.

Guess what?

All season long, I thought the Boston Bruins had returned to their physicality DNA.

They had plenty of players ready and willing to stand up for themselves, and each other.

It was beauty to watch, as it was when the 2007+ B's began to gel as a team, "all for one, one for all."

Now, I know they ALL played like crap against FLA. There's no denying that. They're professionals, and almost to a man they played poorly and after game 4, without passion or physicality.

What happened?

I don't know.

But I suspect.

And my suspicions have grown after reading multiple times and from multiple sources that the Bruins were determined to "Play within the whistles."

That is, evidently, refuse to engage in scrums and nasty after same and thereby, theoretically, deny the Panthers the adrenaline rush & camaraderie to win the series.

I suspect someone named Jim Montgomery counseled this approach.

As with so many aspects of his coaching in round one, this proved a mystifying, fatal mistake.

Milan can't control a game. But he would not have put up with the shit FLA fed the Bruins without pushback.

It was embarrassing.

Embarrassing.

I posted this thread per Lucic, but I'm sorry, I remain extremely, extremely troubled and upset by Jim Montgomery's disastrous display of.... "stupefying" in Round One.

It's 3 June, and I STILL can't understand the layers of BAD, EXCEPTIONALLY BAD decisions Montgomery made as head coach.

STUPIFIED.

But it wil be coming around again.

Sweeney and Neely better address this, because as badly as they played, this is not on the players. And it's not, for once, on management.

It's on the head coach and his staff.

End rant.
I think this is the post that calls for "The Return of one Don Cherry "

No. No more retirement tours. The problem is this team still thinks its 2011 and aren't moving forward past that team.

The problem is they still listen to harry sinden even though the guy traded espo just because he asked for more money paving the way for those habs teams to dominate and the rangers and flyers to push more than they should have, the bruins are 6-14 all time in cups which is the imo the worst overall record even if technically some 0 and whatever teams have a worse winning percentage

Until they stop with the good ole boys club shit they’ll never be able to move on fully. The bruins needed fresh voices 50 years ago and while I think sweeney is a pretty good GM and the bruins have had more success than many teams in the league, they could have been more like the pens or hawks of the 2000-2020 stretch hell even LA but could never get over the hump.

That 2019 loss will be looked back on as one of the worst if you love the bruins and love the bergeron/chara bruins

I’m unsure if the bruins will ever get back to where they need to be to win a cup so long as we have sinden whispering in ears and Charlie jacobs being essentially a copy of dear old dad

Reaves got a 1.75 contract from the Rangers at 35/36 years old. Lucic is a superior player, even if his skills have diminished. I think he can get a one year deal for 2 mill from some team who needs his physicality and the cap room.

there is absolutely nothing to lose. He was consistently their nest game 6 and 7 player during the "glory years"

With the 100 year anniversary though I could see this organization just pretending last years gag didn't happen,
