I'll get pummeled for this, but what about

Should we bring Lucic back?

A farewell tour for Milan? Apparently, he is open to returning to Boston or signing with Vancouver.

I know all the warts and I get it.

Yet even at 34, no one will fight him.

He can still throw his weight around and make opponents nervous.

Don't know how to post a poll, and I'm guessing most will be against it, but FWIW on a rainy Saturday in June.

If a moderator or member knows how to create a poll, please do.

In before the 412 …….”he can’t keep up anymore” posts.

I‘d take him back in a heartbeat though.

It‘s not like skating was ever his strong suit and I don’t want him here to win races anyway.

If anyone thinks that his attitude and style of play wouldn’t have been helpful in the panthers series, I don’t know what to say.

Few teams can “pretty“ their way to a cup.

See Gudas, Radko.

I'll say the same thing I said at the deadline. I don't think bringing him back makes any sense, he is a replacement level player at this point and I think we'd be better suited giving a roster spot to a young player with a higher upside. And all that being said I'd still love to see him in a bruins jersey one more time.

That's essentially my perspective.

I don't necessarily want or need Lucic to fight, btw.

What I want is for him to throw that big body around and put the fear of God into opponents.

If he's out there, they're going to have their heads on swivel.

He's still an emotional, intimidating player who can blow at any time. He's volatile and unpredictable, and there is significant value in that.

I don't know about a "replacement level player," though of course he's almost finished.

Agree with the need to work in prospects. They have to do it sometime, and next season is a fine place to start.

My heart would break hearing him boo’d.
You've been saying that for awhile but I live in Western Canada and watch a ton of Flames games and he was absolutely loved by Flames fans. Vocal keyboard warriors are always around but he got the "Loooooooo(ch)" all the time in Calgary and was the most popular player there (by crowd reaction).

Who was the last Bruins player to be boo'd? It sure wouldn't be Lucic.

Would have loved him on LW to target Gudas and Montour all series.

Also, it would be funny to see Tampa spend 2 drafts worth of picks on a (legit) tough-guy only to have Lucic come back and feed him his lunch. *not to mention the attitude change from Maroon.

He's a mean, competitive SOB on the ice and we need that bad.

Yes. Might be nice to have some toughness again even if he has slowed down and towards the end. He’s won 2 cups (LA also right….?) and that would be huge to help some of the youngsters I think we will see next year.

Yes, I can recall all the "if only we had Lucic" posts going into the Panthers series.

Yep, for those 10 minutes a night when the other team's worst talent is on the ice.

Let me start by saying that I think there’s a 0.3% chance we see a Lucic return to Boston.

It ain’t this place lmao

I’ve seen a few things on him possibly wanting to finish in Vancouver. I don’t think lucic has any real desire to come back to Boston. He’s a Canadian boy who wants to be closer to family, not farther away. He won a Cup here, will always go down as a Bruins great of this era, and played the best hockey of his career here. It’s not always the storybook ending we want it to be.

But to your point: if we did sign him, I’d expect a version of Milan Lucic that’s still physical/nasty, a stand up teammate and leader, and one that plays hard. This version is also a bit slower than when he was here and i wouldn’t expect a lot of offense.
