IIhf womens world under 18 championships

I Know theres not much womans hockey on here but the under 18 iihf womens tournament is currently being held.. Sweden womans team having lost to usa and canada in group play but being competitive in both games has upset the Usa in the semi finals and going to gold medal game. great for womens hockey.
That Swede team beat the shit out of everybody . Beat the finns 6-1 I think. Looking good for Swedish hockey!

This is actually the most competitive womens tourney in history

Czechs and Finns were 3-2... Swedes beat US and are in final... Finns took Canada to 3-2.

Usually a women's tourney has 2 awful semifinals! They were both tight as hell! Good luck to Sweden, I think Canada takes it but it'd be a great story!

Has the All Star Team been announced yet? If so, which players were chosen?
(I suppose Sweden may have a couple of strong candidates. Goalie Frank. Defenceman Jungåker (or possibly Natt och Dag), forward Hilda Svensson (or maybe my favorite, the hard working and smart Stina Andersson).

Nice to see a thread here about the tournament. But also sad to see the lack of interest. This have been the most exciting women/girls tournament I've watched in probably more than a decade.

Usually they announce after the GMG.

Maybe not goalie Frank after all. Five goals allowed in less than 20 minutes.

Tough final day for this tournament for what has otherwise been a very competitive event. Canada and the US both came out hard today in their games. Canada, in particular, look like they want this baaad. This has actually been one of the fastest and most focused efforts I've ever seen from a women's team.

Congrats to Sweden on making the GMG though. They've been great until today.

I've seen on twitter that TV ratings were high in Sweden

I don't know where to see ratings, but if anyone does I would be interested in knowing the numbers.

Sweden was down 0-8 after 29 minutes. I thought "If Canada can score 8 goals in 29 minutes, Sweden can do it in 31 minutes". ;) 0-9 now in the third period... Wouldn't be surprised if Canada wins this. ;)

Brings back memories of past decades when Swedish men used to lose like this to USSR.
