Because for the exact same 2 week period the swiss fans would be picking or choosing between the spengler cup or world jr.

Not a good idea for attendance.

Newfoundland would be tremendous, but realistically it will never happen. The biggest arena has a capacity around 7000. I can't see any Atlantic city other than Halifax getting the tournament, and even then only if fatigue really sets in for this tournament across Canada.
