Nah Russia has fallen below Germany's level in hockey nowadays and in future they will be Norway's level if theyr country even doesnt cease to exist. They are not relevant hockey country same as Belarus.
Ok.

Just off the top of my head there's Kucherov, Kaprizov, Tank, Kuzmenko, OV, Malkin, Svechnikov, Nichkuchkin and Panarin up front. Segachev, Orlov, Gavrikov, Romanov and Provorov on back.

MOST IMPORTANTLY two goalies in NYC and two in the state of Florida that aren't half bad.

The forwards are admittedly getting a little long in the tooth but to say that they wouldn't be considered an elite 6 team anymore - at the very least on paper is showing some major bias.

I'm nowhere near a fan of Russian hockey and would love to see them fail, but the goalies alone could steal more than a few games.

Apologies for the spelling.

It has already been decided at the last IIHF Semi Annual Congress last September Russia and Belarus will get their spot back where they were in 2022. That means top division in all categories.

Whether they are included in Olympics tournaments/qualifications will be decided next March.

Belarus should start at the bottom and work their way up again.

Don't understand why many Russian posters here, and a few others, even believe there will be "a Russia" after the war? I'm not implying the (entire) area will be blasted to smithereens like Bachmut and other places but more similar to other wars where large monolithic things with little cohesion is broken up, usually by local infighting rather than external conquests, in several independent new countries. If so, who gets to call themselves "Russia" and regain a hypothetical place in the top group?

Because those kind of predictions depend on your crystall ball's model and firmware version.

It would be unfair to the other teams in lower divisions if Russia was there, so better just put Russia straight to the best division, but hopefully it takes many years before they are allowed to play again as they don't seem to stop this war any time soon. Belarus should start in the second highest division. They aren't that much better than the competition there, but they are slightly better and will find their way through in max 2 years, maybe in their first year after they are allowed back in.

It sounds like you have never watched anything below the elite division.
He is the sort of guy who will attribute any little Kazakhstan success to KHL/MHL "development", and then somehow turn the blind eye to Kazakhstan's loss to Poland in olympic qualification when Kazakhstan literally iced Barys roster with 10+ foreigners with multiple KHL all stars on it.
