His NMC doesnt kick in until after this season and itd be a totally cut throat thing to trade him however if he were to be moved with 8 X $11.5 what would the value be?
Rangers always find away.Nobody is going to bail Drury out of that contract

You guys are nuts haha. Theres very few teams who wouldnt trade significant assets for that contract. Only reason i even started this thread is the speculation NYR might wanna totally blow it up and igor doesnt want a rebuildHave you seen NHL GM's? Someone would give him that exact deal if he was a UFA even after his play fell off. Just not sure they give a ton of value to acquire him with that deal.

Can you tell me the last time a consensus top 3 goalie was traded in their prime with term? Can you name a goalie who returned "significant assets" in a trade before? The first challenge is finding a team who fits the window of his age and has the cap space
Cory Schneider is really the only one in recent times. Can you name a goalie who returned "significant assets" in a trade before? The first challenge is finding a team who fits the window of his age and has the cap space

9th overall that was used to pick Horvat.
As a % of cap, the closest would be huberdeau. Who returned quite a haul. Can you tell me the last 12M+ player traded?
I think this would be what it looks like. A draft pick, or a few picks / prospects , and cap going back. But I don't define that as significant to be honest.
Wrong. He was in his last year of a contract with a cap hit of 5.9mil.As a % of cap, the closest would be huberdeau. Who returned quite a haul.
Hey! This is very misleading and dishonestAs a % of cap, the closest would be huberdeau. Who returned quite a haul.
It was effectively a sign and trade considering he signed that without ever having played a game for calgary.Wrong. He was in his last year of a contract with a cap hit of 5.9mil.
So if rantanen was traded for igor and then signed an 8 year extension before ever playing a game for nyr it would be misleading and dishonest?Hey! This is very misleading and dishonest
Whatever Braden Holtby's worth was in 2017-18 when he was 28 and just coming off 3 amazing seasons in a row, but clearly having a down year where everyone in Fantasy hockey took him #1 among goalies and complained. With about the same expected trajectory downhill. His NMC doesnt kick in until after this season and itd be a totally cut throat thing to trade him however if he were to be moved with 8 X $11.5 what would the value be?
Except its not. The new contract was signed 12 days after the trade. The only sign and trade in the history of the NHL was Tkachuk. It was effectively a sign and trade considering he signed that without ever having played a game for calgary.
Gotcha. I’m sure calgary wasnt allowed to talk to huberdeau’s agent and agreeing on things before the trade went through.Except its not. The new contract was signed 12 days after the trade. The only sign and trade in the history of the NHL was Tkachuk.
Devils signed Damon Severson and traded him to Columbus.Except its not. The new contract was signed 12 days after the trade. The only sign and trade in the history of the NHL was Tkachuk.

Hubey was traded with significant adds. So the equivalent would be something like Shestekin, Miller, a bum prospect, and a 1st.It was effectively a sign and trade considering he signed that without ever having played a game for calgary.

Not saying its gonna happen but its a fair equivalent
