Not a good look for your 11.5M goalie to get shelled every game and pulled every other start. Has as much to do with sheltering the investment as any well timed injury.

Saw this and I completely agree with it 200%.
Besides the fact that fans ask for our goalies to make miracles saves when we are second to last in rush scoring chances against, and (surprise) dead last in odd man rushes against, our D looking like complete morons whenever the puck gets low, there's a shot on goal, or the offense moves from east to west, causes the worst defensive breakdown I've seen from a Rangers team. Here's to hoping Igor recovers and comes back stronger, because he's going to need it.

Well management would be aware that team will be made worse and less competitive by the trades they are inevitably going to make since the season is already in the shitter and seemingly unrecoverable - so unless they plan on keeping Igor on the IR for the rest of the season, I'm not so sure they are trying to shelter him from the level of defensive play in front of him that will likely only worsen over time.

I have never hated a player more. A born f***ing loser. Absolute loser. Drury signing him to 11.5M makes the Daniel Jones contract look good. You cannot win in this league with mental midgets in goal.

What's wrong with what he posted? The defense did everything to win this game and Shesterkin did everything to lose this game. f***ing cancer.
I think the good news is all that talk about how Igor will somehow prevent us from rebuilding and picking high is obviously untrue.

It's all so tiresome
Igor is a great goalie, but the perils of paying top dollar for goaltending are nights like these. And his contract extension hasn’t even kicked in. Would have been nice to have the extra cap room to improve the skaters.
You make it sound that nights like this are the exception. Half of his nights are like this. And his great clean nights don't make up for it.
