People don't appreciate how skilled he is to overcome his stature, watching Markstrom last night that guy is a giant. He covers the whole net just standing there. Igor is the 3rd shortest starter in the NHL. Only shorter are Nedeljkovic & Saros.

He's had a lot of moments that show off his mental toughness.

During the regular season he took a bad delay of game penalty by shooting the puck into the crowd then came back a few minutes later and rifled a breakaway pass down the middle. Completely forgot about the penalty.

Bounced back in game 6 in a tough environment in Pittsburgh.

Bounced back from a bad stretch of play towards the end of the season.

Seems like he has a backup who may not be completely supportive. Doesn't bother him.

Truck sticked Seth Jarvis in the chest after getting frustrated at our team getting completely demolished.

Gave Lindgren a supportive stick tap to the back of the legs after Lindgren tipped in that own goal earlier in the playoffs. Wasn't looking to assign blame to anyone and was just concerned about picking up his guy.

He has a little bit of that Roy/Brodeur edginess.
