All 32 teams play their season opener on the first or second Friday in October. The NHL would dominate the sports news cycle for a night.

Protect and promote your stars and unique personalities. Aggressively punish players who play to injure the opponent's skill players. Pursue rule and equipment changes that promote free flowing, high scoring hockey. Institutionalize student rush and other discount ticket programs to grow interest in the game. There should never be an empty seat in an arena.

Yeah i love the skinny dudes with the joke of a gloves, if boxing heavyweights did the fights with those there would be a burial after every bout.

I dunno. Some think and maybe rightfully so that boxing might be worse for health due to the cumulative head shots they face in part because they are wearing gloves. The trauma is then more chronic for the boxer than it would be for harder, less frequent blows.

UFC gloves on heavyweight boxers and especially ufc refs on boxing and you can bring out the bodybags next to the trainers before the match.

The sweaters are everything - give folks more to buy that’s actually worn in game.

They did all these lunar new year jerseys.

Don’t just wear them for warm ups. Wear them for a game or two. It’s not gonna hurt the sanctity of the league.

The mix is intruging.
Maybe fold four teams, most teams cant ice a NHL lineup, and very few teams have a 1D and 2 D, to many players play over their natrual spot. The 4th line today is AHLers and washed out NHL veterans.
Yes it may increase scoring, but its a bit ridicoulous. Dont dilute the NHL talent.

1. Free TV and online broadcasting, no pay Walls for at least 25 percent of all games.
2. Real partcipation in the olympics, and Real World Cup of hockey every 4 years.
3. Total ban of fighting
4. Find a technical solution to make the puck more visible for the Audience. Both in Arena and on Screens.
5. Start the Season in September and have the Playoffs finished by the end of April.
6. More Regular schedule. Games Are only Player on 5 days a Week, With a similar number of games on each day.

Why? Because you're wishing for teams to be taken away from their fans. You're also wishing for those fans to be heartbroken, upset & miserable forever because of it.

Unlike, say NFL, NHL has a huge potential fan base in Europe. But the availability of NHL hockey is mind boggling bad.

Open up for direct streaming, ppv, outside of NA.

Every four years, replace the all star break with the World Cup. Every four years cancel the all star and participate in the Olympics, so we get a huge national tournament every two years with the best players. This is an unresistable gateway to club hockey.

FIFA, UEFA and club soccer gets how international tournaments is a net positive for all involved. A shame that the NHL doesn’t.

Mainly scheduling and times of games. I hate when there's over 12 games in a day then only a 2-3 the next day.

Also lots of games start at the same time. I would try and have staggered start times.
