I see Petey just getting worse and worse, but Miller is a few years older. I would trade Miller.

OR, Hughes is probably going to NJ as a UFA, trade Petey for a good dman and be prepared for it. Dman more important.

If you trade either chances are you are killing your window for the next couple years. So gun to your head you trade the older player.

Don't say that, dude. It might come true.

You don't want division rivals to suck, it makes it much less fun for everyone.

Not true.

Canucks had a package of Necas, Kotkaniemi, Morrow and a 1st round pick from the Hurricanes offered for Pettersson before he was even locked up long term.

Had the Canucks traded Pettersson even 1 for 1 with Necas, they would've made out like bandits.

there's no reliable source on this one.
Of course not, but the package I quoted is a package that every single Hurricanes fan was more than happy to give up. It's actually the most conservative package discussed, as others had Nikishin or Jarvis instead of Morrow.

It's extremely likely that the package I named was available and it was the Canucks that turned it down, finding it to be insufficient.

Miller is by far more valuable to the team. He has top 10 scoring finishes on both a low and high scoring team, with huge discrepancies in linemate quality. EP is much more dependent on others, and has been wildly inconsistent.

Canucks best seasons, are with JT as the teams best forward. If it's Boeser or EP leading the way, they are in lotto contention. They won their division with EP being a non factor for most of the season.

EP likely gets the better return, due to age, and not having an NMC in place, plus gives more options cap wise.

I’d be tempted to go to both, and ask them “are you prepared to put your differences aside for the good of the team?”, and if either (or both) say no, just trade them. If you’re not prepared to act like a professional, you can leave

Not necessarily. With Buffalo needing to do something big, you might be able to flip EP for a package like Cozens and Power, which makes you younger, and potentially better

Went with Miller, but this is probably the best approach. Right now, they're getting paid 8 million and 11.6 million respectively to both act like an overgrown man child.
