One of our problems is that those three RD's are all cut from the same mold. Well suited to run the power play but lacking on the defensive side. Every team needs one but two is a stretch and three is unworkable. There are eight clear consensus picks: Lundqvist, Skjei, Kreider, Zibanejad, Buchnevich, Fast, Howden, and Chytil.
Then most pick two out of the three RDs: DeAngelo, Pionk, and Shattenkirk.
I picked DeAngelo and Shattenkirk.
Good poll. Very interesting concept that got me thinking.
Only went with 6.
Hank.
Skjei.
Howden.
Fast.
Chytil.
Zibanejad.
Not sure you win with the rest going forward.
They should just dress the "Little Rangers". Aside from child labor law issues, playing the Little Rangers would not only help the tank, but it would also allow us to cut the deadweight and "just let the kids play...".
Seriously, keeping Zuc past the tdl would be awful asset managementDrawn and quartered list up to 19 now.
OTOH surprised to see Staal still holding steady at 0.

Unless I'm overlooking something, we haven't heard a single disparaging thing about his attitude or presence in the locker room since he's been a Ranger.Interesting to see ADA have so many votes. A lot of players have talent, including him, but the ones with attitude problems (which seems to be the case with him) never make it — or are locker room poison or prima donnas.
Two to three years from now he will be 33/34 in a career that is already declining. Also he's a free agent after this year and who knows how much he is going to want. So yes keeping him past the tdl would be a bad move, no need to do what Detroit did with Mike GreenNot if you want to fight for a playoff spot within the next 2-3 years, simply because you need vets with playoff experience to have success.

Didn't his injury occur right after the tdl iirc? But either way it makes no sense to keep himGreen was injured at the TDL.
A similar scenario is he ONLY way that it would make sense to bring Zucc back... and only on a one year deal

He has a special skillset and is a RHD, that's why he has so many votes. Every opportunity he gets to dress he impresses me, but then he takes one bad penalty or makes a questionable pinch and he's in the press box for 10 games. I don't get it, I don't think it's fair and he deserves an opportunity to get legitimate minutes on a nightly basis through the deadline before I consider moving him.

Well, we don't, at least this year and next year. Kreider, Zibanejad, Shattenkirk, Lundqvist have enough olayoff experience between them that we have the 'luxury' of trading Zuccarello and Hayes. Not if you want to fight for a playoff spot within the next 2-3 years, simply because you need vets with playoff experience to have success.
I have no idea why Zibanejad has so many votes.
