I was thinking back on all the studs on the sharks roster and how the only player that actually went on to win cups is Barclay Goodrow. This year Brent Burns leaves Carolina to go to Colorado only to be swept while his old team finally broke through to the cup finals. Meanwhile Hertl has a chance to win but if they don’t the drought continues.

Pavelski could never get beyond the conference finals, Thornton and Marleau both brought in to help and couldn’t reach the promised land. Couture, Vlasic, heck even Karlsson has only made the playoffs once since the run in 2019.

Are they the team equivalent to modern day Corey Perry?

Sometimes the truth hurts.

You have said some things today that have been very painful indeed. You mentioned in the Roster Discussion thread that Nurse and Mcdavid realize that they cannot be best friends anymore if they want to be contenders. But I don't agree with that. I believe in the power of friendship!! The friendship between Patty and Jumbo in particular sustained me throughout the years.

I heard Patty secretly hated Joe because he stole his thunder.

Pavelski made the cup final with the Stars in 2020.

Pavs played in the Stanley Cup Finals

I think the funniest thing here was all the Hertl to Carolina rumours. Also how he begged the owner to trade him to a winner because he wanted to prove to everyone he was a winner because he had too many injuries.

I mean he already is a winner, has a better career than most players.

Marner also rejected a trade to Carolina and signed with Vegas because they were a ‘contender’. Would love to see them both lose to the team they thought they were better than.

I thought this was a silly idea but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Someone cursed the end-of-the-2010s powerhouse Sharks and all the players are carrying the curse with them.

Add to this Timo Meier whose Devils go nowhere, so he travels to represent his country at the WCs... and the Swiss team loses in the finals 3x in the row, scoring 0 goals across the three matches.

Sharkbitten.

Didn’t Perry win a Cup with the Ducks?
