If Tocchet Signs to Coach the Flyers Does it Validate Tampering Allegations?

I don't think Comcast is gonna be okay with paying another big salary for a coach with Torts still on the books.

We have a huge amount of money, but it's insane to keep this up with them having to pay out AVs contract during Torts' tenure.
Guys on sports radio just talking about this. They’re saying Flyers will win the bidding war with Boston.

I guess it depends on how much our Spectacor CEO plays to them with their Xfinity branding now being our stadium's name.

As a realist who wants the Flyers to actually rebuild, I'd prefer just having Shaw.

It doesn't validate the tampering shit, but it certainly does validate the long running cronyism narrative with the Flyers org.

My brother in christ you can hire people that never played for your organzation for a job, you know.

The Blues tampered with Jim Montgomery and nobody cared. I don't think they're going to do anything about Tocchet.

The Flyers old boys club has been a bit of an interest of mine since one of your guys posted a chart on another board i go to that showed all the overlapping tenures/connections and it was eye opening, and admittedly hilarious.

There's the old boys club and then whatever the f*** the Flyers think they are. (Chart is probably outdated by now but i assume the same logic still applies)

He played hockey and was really good at it... that's it.

Exactly. Good on the ice (30 years ago), so must be good behind the bench.

As a Canucks fan, I did grow to appreciate some of his insights. Respected the guy even 'til the end.

But really when he came out the gate mumbling mixed metaphors "taking one bite at a time, out of the elephant in the room...", using the word "diversity" when he meant "adversity" lol.... we knew this guy was not the sharpest tool.

I'm personally just disappointed because Quinn Hughes seemed to like him.

No, they won't. Just be glad you got rid of an overrated and about to be very overpaid coach.
Amen to that! Watching him turn EP into a grinder was gross.

To the people who say he didn't, well I guess we will find out soon.
Personally, I think he immediately bounces back to normal EP numbers.

The point I was making might have been a bit lost. He's good in the sense that he might be able to teach basic fundamentals, but in the modern competitive arena that's not enough.

Any old hat can do that, so I don't see him as any better than someone who has had an opportunity to be an assistant in the NHL.

He's a nothing-asset despite his on-ice acclaim.

Any team that signs him, is doing so on emotional feelings. which means he's the Flyers next coach.... :death:

Michkov you better start learning how to dump that puck in buddy

Garnet Hathaway get ready to learn second line minutes and career season 40 pointsanese

If he does a curl coming over the blue line
If he doesn't play it from a high danger spot back to the D
If he doesn't win every board battle
if he tries to come out of his own zone with possession
If he doesn't try meeting pressure with pressure Blah, Blah, Blah
etc etc

Michy will understand what кататься на сосне - это
is in Philly.
