If not Ruff, who?

For those who didn't read it, here's what Boyes had to say on Ruff. Take what you will with it. I mean how often have we seen players leave Lindy's system and flourish. Others come to Lindy's system and get neutered.
Yeah, Brad Boyes is a great example of a pretty consistent 40+ point scorer who comes to Buffalo and ***** the bed. He's got six points in seven games on the Island so that should say something.

This is true. But let's not be obtuse. You do realize that some players have IN FACT come to the Sabres under Ruff and flourished or at the least done well too? You're not "that guy" that has blinders on right?

Like I said in the GBU, Ruff has run it's course in Buffalo. He needs to go to another city and coach. And I wish him all the best .... Elsewhere.

Stay away from Mike Keenan. Please, God, no.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

One other person who knows that guy is toxic garbage and to be left well alone. :handclap:

Anyone got some info on this D.Eakins? I don't know the name but I do believe we should promote from the minor leagues, not go for an established NHL coach.

The list is heavily favored in the opposite direction, though, I think. I'm exhausted and can't think straight, but the name that immediately jumped to mind was Audette. Sanderson would be another good choice here.

His play in STL after his 2 good seasons stunk as well, he was nothing to do with Ruff.

Boyes sounds to me like another product of the positive self esteem movement.

It's amazing how different things are today. Just a couple decades ago players understood how lucky they were to be playing for an NHL team and that they could easily be replaced by someone working in the minors and just waiting their chance to break in. Heck, I've read stories that they used to play thru injuries just so they wouldn't lose their spot on the team....

Anyways, it sounds to me like Ruff has an old school approach to communication that doesn't mesh with today's player expectations or needs. ("I'm special" to quote the Simpson's..)

Now a days, sitting a guy down for a game or two is a gut wrenching major soap opera affair. Ruff is obviously out of touch with the sensitivities required to coach today's fragile players...:sarcasm:

(B.S. it's about X's and O's and the ability to execute. And Boyes racked up a big fat zero.......!)

Maybe one of these days Vanek will lose it during a post-game interview and go on a rant about Ruff. You know he hates the guy.

You're talking about a guy who as a player for the Sabres once stormed out of the building like a little girl after being scratched for a game. He understands perfectly well.

hes not suited for a head coaching job yet however Id do whatever it took to lure jeff Beukeboom into our system and groom him as a coach.

As a person he is top notch, a philanthropist and a class act.

As a player he was tough beyond belief, a 3 time cup winner, notorious for sticking up for teammates, and a guy who gave it all-no matter what 'all of it' meant.

He's been an assistant coach in some capacity since 2003...just one of those guys who to me could be a real wildcard as a solid coach someday.

I think you misunderstood the sarcasm behind my statement...... :D Boyes was looking for a relationship and Lindy obviously needed to take sensitivity training (NOT):sarcasm:

Anyone remember Al Smith?
