The question is not complicated, if Goeff Molson fire Bergevin this summer, who do you want to be the next Habs GM and why ?
That (in general) is a pretty depressing list. Lets be real, Martin Madden is the only realistic choice there that doesn't suck.
I would keep him in the organisation to ! I think he's a good hockey mind and it's good to have a view from the inside for the new GM.I'd like Mellanby to get a shot. That being said, I see Martin Madden Jr. as the next GM unless Molson can somehow pry Brisebois away from Tampa.
Chris Drury would be amazing but with the language thing...
I want Roy, we need some emotions and glory back in the club. I'm sure he'll want to be better than Sakic just because of his ego.
I don't know if he'd be "amazing", but if I was choosing a new GM and wasn't concerned about language, I'd look at Tulsky from Carolina.
Another perhaps more realistic option for a front office role (perhaps not AGM) is Golden Knights director of hockey operations (essentially an AGM there) Misha Donskov.
They should also probably build an in-house analytics staff. I don't even think that would be really hard, a lot of smart people in that area are from/still are in Montreal.
Chris Drury would be amazing but with the language thing...
Do you have other name ?List sucks but clearly Bergevin isn't the guy
Chris Drury lives near me, he’s not leaving for Canada - very close w Marty St.Louis who lives next town over BTW (another guy who’s got no interest in going back to Canada)Chris Drury would be amazing but with the language thing...
I do not, and I know that we will have very limited options with the bilingual requirement. However, we have given Bergevin more than enough chances and he hasnt provided.Do you have other name ?
By far the best candidate. But I also heard he doesn't want to leave NY, he pulled himself out of the Penguins job
I wish the language thing wasn't a thing in this stupid organization!!
