I go Slaf then after him Jiricek or Nemec. I want to fill a need amd either get the hulking skilled winger or potential top pairing RHD . So it kinda sucks then as the D would be seen as a reach

But he’s projected to be more of a 2C type of ceiling I thought? That’s the criticism of him. If he’s seen as a legitimate #1 center he’s an easy first pick not just an even with Slaf first pick.

No, his ceiling is definitely 1C. Franchise 1C. But his floor is probably a 2C (3C for us, perhaps!) which is still outstanding. It's a premium position versus 1LW etc.

Whatever scout said that should be fired. He's a franchise #1, who will be better than both Hughes and Hischer.

I mean we have the same experience with that in 2017, Wright will be a stud at the next level. He's also probably had the biggest misfortunes with his draft stock outside of his control probably out of any prospect in NHL history with COVID ravaging both of his last 2 junior seasons.

Wright. Smartest player, best shot, perfect for a team that loves to over dangle and over pass.

With two good young centers, I might roll the dice 🎲 on Slaf. If he hits, he’s a monster. If he doesn’t, I still see him as a solid 60pt player. High high floor.

But if Wright hits and can possibly play right wing…that’s a slamming trio of young stars for the Devs all just a few years apart. You can manage the cap better as it raises. I guess this goes for both guys but you know what I mean…heartless bastards.

Like Hisch13r said, Wright compares with Tavares in his ceiling, Slaf with Rantanen. Rantanen won the Stanly cup, was point leader against Tampa and helped McKinnon as a partner to achieve the new level. We have a couple of centers, who could want to make some big achievements. And Tavares wasn't even close to be that dominant player on the ice with that kind of results.

Slafkovsky ofcourse. Much more dynamic player with better fit.

Obviously haven't scouted them, but other yrs I watch a lot of tape of top prospects & didnt do that either. I only watched highlights of each plus Slaf in IIHF this yr.

I would want Slafkovsky if he becomes a #1 PwrFwd who can produce 30+ Gs 70-90pts. If he can't, but Wright can be a top 2 Center producing 70-90 pts w/ a 200ft game I would want him.

If they produce the same I prefer the element of game Slaf will bring to NJ over Wright, as I hope Nico end of the yr. bteakout was true & Jack avoids injury as he grows/gains muscle each season.
