If Carrier is out for the series, what do you do?

Reinbacher is pretty good to handle forecheckers, so I wouldnt be that worried, but I understand the fans who would rather play it safe since that serie has been insanely physical.

Normally I’d say Reinbacher is easily the right choice. But I can just see him getting injured. I think I’d rather just lose the series than see that happen. This is just gravy anyway so I guess you bring in Struble and hope for the best.

I think Carrier will be fine. Principal point of contact was his shoulder/neck, it was a clean hit. But they will call up Reinbacher if they have too.

His head really cracked the ice hard on the fall and to my eyes he looked woozy skating off.

He tried to tough it out because he's a warrior but I wouldn't count on him returning.

He has the talent, but this would be a case of looking at the trees rather than the forest. There's very little to be gained for him and we don't have to guess if Washington will target him and his knees, they will. We know it, because they've been doing it all series and the refs are penalizing Montreal. This isn't the time to risk his health. Some will say the AHL is worse, but its not. Reinbacher's physical and IQ advantage is far greater there. In the playoffs, he'd be like Demidov trying to survive.

Just a little precision, I meant more so surviving in the sense of being able to keep up with he pace and speed of execution. It's hard enough going from the AHL to the NHL, but the playoffs are like their own super League with attempted murders added on top.

I hate it too. It messes with so many dynamics. Hockey being a game of inches and moments and the Habs being significantly less skilled and experienced than the Caps means we don't need to make things even worse for ourselves by f***ing with our breakout so badly.
