Olympics: If Canada had a B team, how would they do internationally?

For sure they would be the 2nd, 3rd best team, but I have no idea why people (mainly Canadians) are so fixated with this. I’ve never seen any of the major football powers act like Canada does when it comes to sport. If England would lose to a small country like Sweden, you would never hear them scream like ”Oooooh but we have 5 teams that are better than yours” or ”But we missed our reserve left back that game!”. It’s only Canadians, and hockey. Such a boring world

To be honest, the best bet would be to have 24 forwards throw their sticks in a pile, 14 defense into a second and 6 goalies into a third. McDavid and MacKinnon Captain the teams and pick using ball hockey rules.

Huh? I've seen lots of fans from various countries say "well yeah our B team would be a contender too" or something similar.

Australia with cricket is a big offender for this one in my experience.
