And they are.

This American team is very good. Not the same level as the 2005 Canadian team, but they are very, very crisp and looking pretty cohesive already.

Russia? Folks, there are more than 2 teams in this tournament. Russia, Czech, and Sweden should also be icing competitive teams.

Yes. In any single elimination tournament any of seven nations CAN win.

But the American team is the big-time favourite in this event because they have an extraordinary roster.

Last time I checked Russia also had an extraordinary roster. I definitely wouldn't call USA a "big-time favourite".
