Kind of worried about the suspension to nurse.
Walman - Bouchard
Kulak - Stetcher??
??? - Emberson

This got zero supplemental discipline.
I'm guessing 3 game suspension for Nurse, especially given his history with the league.
There may have been worse incidents around the league that went unpunished but this was a lack of discipline from a veteran who knew how short handed the club is. Rather unfortunate.
Let's hope that Walman is available for service.
Not much to take away from a game like this but:
I sure hope Nuge puts up a better offensive display in L.A.
Maybe no suspension for Nurse but given how short handed they are on defense, more discipline should have been shown on his part.
Still pisses me off that Nurse got suspended for the same number of games as Pietrangelo for fighting a guy who immediately threw his gloves off and started throwing as Nurse glided towards him, and who according to Nurse asked him to fight numerous times throughout the game. Meanwhile Pietrangelo legit tried to break Draisaitl's wrist 2 seconds after he scored an empty netter.Keep in mind that the NHL at an official level measures playoff games as double the suspension value of a regular season game. That was the justification for the one game on Pietrangelo slash.
The Nurse thing is nowhere close to the value of a three or five game suspension, which is what it effectively be if they hit him up in the playoffs. There is no precedent for that level of penalty for what he did.
Again, that doesn’t matter because there was no precedent for Nurse taking the playoff suspension two years ago and there was no precedent for McDavid getting 3 for what he did earlier in the year. Having said that, suspending Nurse in the playoffs is a leap even beyond that.
But you can't do that to guys who crash the crease. Sure, punch him but this was an overreaction and not a very bright play considering what the team is dealing with.Idk, I have no problem with what Nurse did.
Byfield can't be crashing the crease that hard on a 5 on 3 when they're up by 4 already. He's got to read the room.

Hopefully Byfield won't make it past the first round.I mean, yeah, he crossed the line.
But you bet your ass byfield will be thinking twice before he crashes the crease in the first round.
Yes it wasn't a smart play but it isn't like he hit him in the face. His stick slide off the side of his helmet. That was in the midst of a fight and happened in a split second. Punches after a player is down during a fight happen all the time.
Cross checks to the head of a guy who is prone on the ice do not happen all the time.
Anyone defending this move by Nurse is just being a homer imo. It was a stupid, dangerous play that deserves a suspension. Incredibly selfish and if he misses any playoff games they’re essentially conceded with Ekholm also out.
Yup, lest we forget the concussion our goalie just had...I mean, yeah, he crossed the line.

Do the Oilers plan to fly back to Edmonton after the SJ game or stay and prepare in California?if Nurse does gets a game, he should be stoked not having to fly to SJ for a meaningless game
As much as we knew Skinner would be ordained the game 1 starter, just because, no matter what.Oh, you and I both know Draisaitl will be saddled with him come Game 1.
Thanks. Makes sense now. I took it a different way.Perry was responding to the comments Danault made regarding the Oilers put out a “b” team to injure kings players. Perry’s response was referring to all the injuries and oilers having no choice but to play the “b”team.
