Who do you guys consider to be the ideal D-partner for Karlsson? One of the names that came to mind for me initially was Josh Gorges, because of his steady, stay-at-home style. Anyone else?

But in reality it needs to be someone who can shoot the puck, and is smart enough to give Karlsson the puck at the right time (and is capable of it). Methot is neither of that.

Does anyone know if Cowen is a faster skater than Karlsson? Obviously Karlsson is the best skater, but the 6'5'' Cowen is scary fast as well.

Chara. You don't need someone fleetfooted because Karlsson can handle puck-rushing duties but if there is any one criticism of Methot it's that Karlsson would probably be even more dangerous on the ice if his d partner was more of a shooting threat.

That said Methot is not making that much money and we picked him up for Foligno. We should be ecstatic with his performance so far.

EDIT: Also, complaining about or criticizing anything when this team is 5-1-1 especially given the injuries we've had is mind-boggling.

Of course, it's something that could never come to be, since the world would explode if it did.

I don't think there's any hypothetical pairing in the league better than Chara - Karlsson. Best to be happy with what we have and not torment ourselves with these kind of fantasies.
