Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner inducted into the baseball HOF

Whoever didn’t vote for Ichiro should have their voting privileges taken away because it’s clear someone is just being an asshole.

The rest of it I get, whether it’s just the voters changing out over time, or needing time to be convinced. Don’t care about someone getting in ‘too soon,’ it’s irrelevant. If you are one, you are one.

Not voting for Ichiro though, someone is fully committed to being unserious.

Much like with Jeter and Griffey.

Its definitely an old school guy who lives and dies by "if Ruth didn't get 100%, nobody should..."

Has the doofus come forward yet and revealed any reason as to why Ichiro was left off the ballot?

Or is this writer going to continue hiding behind the baffling security of anonymity that Cooperstown has given him? :help:

Sabathia getting in should open door for Buehrle

Sabathia
561 games/ 560 starts
251-161
3.74 ERA
3,577.1 IP
3,093 K's
1.259 WHIP
62.3 WAR

Buehrle
518 games/ 493 starts
214-160
3.81 ERA
3,283.1 IP
1,870 K's
1.281 WHIP
59.1 WAR

The voters sadly will likely not vote in Buehrle though despite his excellence because he never played for Yankees or Red Sox

Not at all.

Sabathia is 4th in fWAR for a 10 year period, won a Cy Young and had four other seasons where he finished top 5 in voting. Buehrle had one season where he received Cy Young consideration.

I like Buehrle and think he was underrated but CC does not open the door for him.

buehrle's a classic example of "hall of very good"

he reminds me of chuck finley, as in he was consistently decent to good every year for a long time but never among the best pitchers in the game. i think he only got CY votes one season

If anything i think it opens the door for Pettite, who IMO is certainly more deserving than Sabathia
