Confirmed with Link: Ian Lapperriere out as Phantoms coach

Didn’t DB just finish saying that Lappy had done a great job with the Phantoms and was making noise in the playoffs? Why was this loss in 5 games (if it even was) to the Bears the critical point?

Why is it that the people in charge can’t go two days in a row without saying something stupid and/or immediately contradicting themselves?

One of the writers said it may have been Lappy's decision

Maybe something else is going on with Lappy? Has there been an official announcement from the Phantoms or Flyers? I haven’t seen anything.

Jason Smith, 50, is in his fourth season as assistant coach with the Phantoms where he largely
works with the team’s defenseman and penalty kill.

A veteran of over 1,000 NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton
Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Ottawa Senators, Smith scored 41 goals and 128 assists for 169
career points while accumulating 1,099 penalty minutes.

Smith served as captain of the Edmonton Oilers for five seasons and with the Philadelphia Flyers for
one year in 2007-08.
