Which do you find more unrelentingly dark and depraved: Blood Meridian or the Flyers?
Well, I'm not forced to read Blood Meridian on repeat for a decade...

For some reason though, I've found myself rotating McCarthy novels as my airport go-to for the last like 3 years.

Blood Meridian

“In the doorway there was an old man taking the sun and he leaned with a goat horn eartrumpet to the rising din within and nodded in continual agreement although no word was spoken in any language he had understanding of.”

This is why everyone needs to read Blood Meridian. I swear McCarthy tried to make it a comedy!

Like, who writes, "...having congress with a goat"?

Adam Sandler movie casting philosophy.
Ok who is Chris Rock? David Spade? Kevin James?
Chris Rock is Keith Jones. The funniest one.
David Spade is Rick Tocchet. Personable, but can be tough on you and standoffish as needed. Long career, went away from the group, but came back.
Kevin James is Lappy. Obviously very nice, can once in awhile be "self" funny, and whose body of work fell off a cliff in terms of quality.

Who would be Rob Schneider?

Who would be Rob Schneider?

Roenick. Shows up for brief bit parts in the Comcast Philly media. Always secretly nervous his jokes will offend someone or not land. Post prime career has been a little sad. Talks too much. Takes any conversation down an eventual road where you have to hold a hand up to stop him. Best moment of his career involves someone around him being concussed to enjoy the next 20 seconds.

The reality here, as mentioned, is that they don’t want to pay him to sit and do nothing. The other thing to consider, is that if he had any other opportunity somewhere else that he’s interested in pursuing, they would gladly let him do that instead of being their office bitch tasked with fetching the orders from Wawa (no way these guys ordering Uber Eats). He doesn’t have that opportunity, which means no one else is interested, which makes more sense since they don’t want him to do anything for themselves.

i didnt really believe it at first, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind now that the Flyers alumni are scamming comcast. laperrriere was a failure, there is absolutely no logic that suggests he's suitable for a hockey ops role. nothing at all. expect that people like him as a friend and want him to stay employed. what a scam.

Yep. Keeping the club intact and paid is very clearly vastly more important to them than winning.

“Lappy didn't always have a lot talent in the AHL, but not everyone in the organization felt there was enough development in the AHL. But Lappy has been such a good soldier in the Flyers family they won't fire him.”

Classic Flyers 🤣🤣
