its his 4th year in the league. cant use his age as an excuse.

During which time he's played 2.5 seasons worth of games, with bottom minutes because he's behind two established centers. He should have been getting heavy minutes in the AHL in his 20/21 year old seasons, but I'm still confident that when he starts getting more minutes/opportunities with top six players, the production will follow.

Still, LA has no need for another center, so the proposed trade makes no sense at all.

Iaffalo is a glue guy that contributes in so many ways. Doesn’t always show in the score sheet but hard to replace. Easy pass for LA especially for a center.
This was going to my point exactly. Iaffalo effects the game in both zones, whether he as the puck on his stick or not. He has the ability to be effective on all four lines. He's a tough commodity to replace.

both quality pieces but this is not a fit

also, Chytil stays when Strome goes
so as a cheap C w/upside he's extensively not on the table
NYR fans gotta recognize that

Strome conversely wants 6ish to stay here, multi years, nmc clause and he's doing us a favor.
Hell no.

He's been a productive player at good value, but it is time to cut the chord, esp since Barron + others are knocking and we need Strome's mins elsewhere.
