Throughout this tournament I have said several times that Hannu Henriksson should never be allowed to judge a game where Russia is playing. He has never been able to be objective about team Russia. I don´t know why that is, but he seems to have some serious bias against that country.
In yesterday´s game my fears came into reality as Henriksson was the decisive factor in Canada´s "victory". Too many questional penalties to Russia in the first period were the key why Russia lost this game. And he also ignored some Canadian plays that should have been penalties, for example Thornton's spearing of Afinogenov. He also should have called a penalty shot when Regehr closed the puck under his glove in the goal crease.
Russian hockey federation MUST make sure that Henriksson is never allowed to judge Russia´s games again. It´s too heavy a prize to pay to lose a game this important because of a biased ref! Russia was the better and more dominant team against Canada, but Henriksson robbed their well deserved spot in the final.
I feel bad for the Russian fans who deserved to watch their team play in the final.
