Post-Game Talk: I think this team might have some flaws

I'll keep saying it, this is the best outcome for this organization in the future because this team was never winning this year.

But I say that as if we won't completely nuke whatever top 5 pick we get this year.

Until this organization figures out how to develop players at the NHL level, we're never going to win a cup. Every single guy we've drafted came into the league looking extremely promising and has significantly regressed. Kakko is undeniably worse. Schneider and Miller have fallen off a cliff. Laf is the definition of mid.

I don't know what Drury was smoking. It didn't work out but I loved the Blake Wheeler signing because it was free and he cost nothing but league minimum. To go out and trade assets for the same type of player who clearly couldn't play in Pittsburgh is a fireable offense in and of itself.

Meeka, Cryder, Smith, Kakko are giving us nothing. That’s half the top 9. Lindgren is so cooked and Jones is way too high risk. The other 4 D were honestly not bad.

Trocheck lost in the postgame at least he’s taking it on the chin.

That was brutal. Almost 0 sustained pressure and an obvious lack of skill across the lineup.
Mika and Kreider looked absolutely cooked. KK, Vesey and Smith are the same guy wearing 3 different numbers. You could convince me that Edstrom didn't play.
Laf, Chytil, Cuylle and Berard looked ok, but Nashville isn't great and some combo of those guys has to finish a chance or 2.
Outside of Fox the entire D-corps are bottom pairing/depth guys at best.

Berard leading the team in 5v5 ice-time is telling. As is KK being last after just being scratched

Not a good look for the 1st line.
