I need to go on a mini rant about the definition of "all time".

No. It is not. The term "midget" is derived from the name "Bridget" and so it is today regarded as an emasculating term (hence the perceived offense) when used to refer to a male under 4-feet 4-inches tall regardless of it's definitional correctness. "Midget" is just fine, there's nothing wrong with that word. How will you excuse your faulty statements?
Maybe this sounded more clever in your head before you typed it out

I thought you were going to point out that "all time" includes the future too, and we really don't know whether someone better will come along. So it's kind of a stupid term. We should really be saying someone is the best so far.

But I do agree that it's sort of weird how we diminish playoff statistics when looking back on careers, despite them being arguably more important.

You realize this is how it works in other team sports too? "All-time" is either for the regular season OR the playoffs.

Why would you want to count both together when a bunch of players would be disadvantaged because of the teams they played on during their career?

Right, it makes sense on some level, but it is odd how we celebrate 1000 games, 500 goals, etc., but the playoff numbers don’t ever really get any shine until it’s HHOF convo time. Just an example- Selanne was just over ppg over 1451 games (1457 points). “Just” 88 points in 130 playoff games, though, and since we don’t really focus on those numbers we just kinda forget that his style didn’t work in the playoffs as much, or that the numbers aren’t as good at least. We notice stark exceptions, Justin Williams and Joe Thornton, but it’s a bit odd how we largely disregard the stats that get you that cup everyone makes such a big deal out of.

Not really sure what the solution is, just sayin I kinda get OP’s point whilst agreeing with ya that it’s not somethin I’d combine or anything.
