"I may not be able to report" type of a contract in NHL

I have NMC that turns into NTC with 15 teams on July 1. June 28 my team finds a trade for me, but can't trade me without knowing if I'm blocking a given team come July 1. The team asks me if I'm OK with the trade and if I will have team X on the list come July 1. I reply I don't know. In the meantime I go to team X and say: "I may not be able to report". 5 minutes before deadline I report team X on my NTC list. I am 100% legal.

More, I can say "I may not be able to report" to every team before I submit my list of teams come deadline. It's an honest answer.

Chill Trouba. I don't think we know the details of everything here accurately considering it came from Brooksie.

If the org tried to trade a guy with a 15 team NTC before he submitted that list of teams, that's pretty silly.
