If you sit in a chair for 12 hours a day you better not skimp on it.

I can get on board with this logic. Some things really are worth spending the extra money on. Work shoes, mattresses, toilet seats. If they're even a little bit uncomfortable, you'll curse your own cheapness for years to come.

The only part I don't understand, what makes this different than a $200 swivel chair?

Hmm me? I'm unemployed.

Get a standing desk. I work from home and stand at the computer most of the day. Way better than sitting on your ass. Plus the desk costs way less than that chair, and is much better for you.

I have tried standing desks but I can't concentrate the same way while standing, and it's harder for me to type as fast. In my old job I had one but I was managing people instead of working on a computer like I do now.

Where I work it is pretty divided between the PHP and Java devs. We work with Hybris so it's pretty rigid.
