That was a pretty good game! I imagine it would have been closer if you had Barkov, basically the closest thing there is to another Matthews.

Oh well, you win some lose some, right? This time around it will be an even tougher battle than the last playoff meeting now that we have an actual quality netminder, so will be much harder to outgoalie us, See you in the playoffs!

Let's be honest, we are extremely mediocre right now, and have been for the last month or so. We are hoping for a miracle that once Chucky and Ekblad return somehow they will be in playoff form. It was nice winning the cup last year at least we will always have that. 1st round exit.

Tkachuk will not be ready to play for game 1.

He might play later in the 1st round but will probably be rushed and not be effective.

Obviously, they will never admit it, but the first round exit will probably be a relief after their last two big runs.

Window sill still be open for another big run next year though. They’ll be back.

Yeah I agree, we've looked bad for stretches but the way some are talking about us you'd think we were in a wildcat spot.

One of my concerns though is that Ekblad, Tkachuk and Kulikov might not be at full health, or will be rusty when they come back. That could be a difference maker in a tight playoff series

I just don’t get it. Look at the Leafs, losers every single year, get a new coach and barely look any different. Still the same losers. This team has won a cup and we’re sitting here whining while they’re missing huge pieces and just made the division leaders piss themselves. Like Jesus lmao. That’s a valid concern but a year ago we would’ve killed for 1 cup in franchise history let alone 2 cracks in a row. Let’s have some shame guys.

I didn't expect a win in this one with Barkov out . 3 of our next 4 games are Ottawa and Detroit twice. Barky should come back for most of those, Kuli too . We should get on a nice little roll here. Then Buffalo, Rangers, and Tampa to end the season. If they pull this off right, they could go on a hot streak going into the playoffs .

With our decimated roster, the only thing I did not like is that we gave up more breakaways than as usual. Otherwise we did not only competed with a fully healthy TOR team, we were the better team over the bigger part of the game.

Especially the Finns and Boqvist - who served up 2 goals on a platter with our forwards wasting them in an aweful way - looked better than the last games.

Can't wait to have a full roster. This team is still one of the top SC contenders

If that’s the case then it wasn’t meant to be. We can’t expect this team to be a contender without Tkachuk. Pretty obvious without Tkachuk, Ekblad and Kulikov this team is going to struggle down the stretch. The bottom pair has cost us over 6-7 games this season. They are terrible.

It’s not the end of the world if we get bounced in the first round. Long summer to heal and rest and reinvigorate for a contending season next year. We’ve played a lot more hockey than 31 other teams the last few years. We need 100+ point healthy chuck back next October.
