Few months ago i bought Baldurs Game 3.
But somehow i realized, i don't have any free time to play not only this, but also others games - Football Manager, Civilisation VI, World of Tanks... Last month i played only half hour in tank battles and that was.
And second thing i realized: I don't regret it.
Do you not have any free time for games or are games just not interesting enough to eat away at some of your free time? Because if you don't have any free time away from work, your family, errands, and things that need to get done around the house- then that could develop into an issue. For a lot of people- it's important to have our own interests outside of all that. If not- it can lead to burnout.
I have a wife and a kid, so life is busy. We don't own a house, so that definitely frees up some time. But I find a good amount of free time to watch my shows, workout, go out for a few hours with friends or family once a week, play video games, etc...I'm even going on a trip with my dad to Pittsburgh in August for a few nights, which I try to do twice a year. All that, and the wifey and I still get to consistently spend intimate time together.
I've slowed down on video games because they just aren't that interesting to me anymore. I'll find a game that can keep me entertained for a month or two, then it's back to other hobbies. My physical health, getting out with a friend for a drink, a good show (Andor FTW at the moment), singing karaoke, and traveling all trump that by a wide margin.
I'll say- I was Gung-Ho about finding a career that had a great work/life balance. I also have a wife who isn't controlling at all. So, I suppose in that regard- I'm a really lucky man. The time life really cause a clamp down on free time is if you have a newborn (been there...it can exhaust you) or you have 3+ kids (at least, from what I've noticed).
