G:
-Myers -- looked confident out there, especially after the goal. Loved the huge hit from him too, even if it also took out Ehrhoff
-F-E-S -- definitely their best game as a line so far, IMO. Nice to see Stafford finally score and Foligno hitting everything that moves
-Miller -- game could've easily been blown open by the B's in the 2nd if it wasn't for him
-Ehrhoff

B:
-Sekera's injury

U:
-The 2nd period

Agreed, you will seriously get dirty looks. The only time the clowns in the 100s show any emotion is if you dare to stand up and try to cheer on the team.

IDK what happened down at FNC the past 6 or so years. The year after the lockout (2005-2006) the crowds were great. The next year when they won the Presidents trophy the crowds were still pretty good. It seems like every year after that they get worse and worse and I'm not sure why.

What is so mysterious about it?

The team has been maddening, boring and sucked for long stretches. I've always been amazed that many of the same posters that hammer the team for those various things are also the ones that are shocked the fans at FNC watching that same team live aren't cheering wildy for them.

Posters seem to forget that season ticket holders see their garbage play up close repeatedly. It wears you down as a fan. I speak from experience.

I wish he could go down to the AHL, it's what he desperately needs, I don't think another 10 games + playoffs in the Q is going to help him on what needs to be worked on.

I also don't know if keeping him in the NHL will be detrimental to his development though..don't want a Nino situation..but after all that, Nino is having a solid AHL year right now.

Learning how to win in the playoffs and leading your team somewhere would be a good for him.

Probably would, and at the least, I don't think it would hurt his development. If his team goes out early in the playoffs, would he be able to go to Rochester and finish out the season with them? I thought I remember reading he'd be able to once the Q season is officially over.

Vanek looked slow
2nd period

Vanek seems to be having difficulty accelerating. I suspect the apparent groin pull he suffered in last week's Islanders game that was quickly dismissed as nothing is bothering him. That would explain why his ice time was cut way back for the Bruins game the following night.

Not saying he isn't a perfect player but the only way to get better in this league is more ice time. Not saying by any means he is playing at a level for more but it's the only way to get more acclimated to the speed and style of game the NHL is. Happened to me just transitioning from high school hockey to college. Granted its not the same level but you need that playing experience. It has to be developed by playin time. Only way. It will come for the kid. He'd just tear up the Q and really not develop an NHL game. He has a **** coach here too so that doesn't help.

Sabres Sole Reason For Existence....is to beat Boston

It seems that the Bruins are so in-the-Sabres-heads, that the Sabs made off-season adjustments specifically to deal with Boston, AND they seem to only come to play when they face Boston.

I know it sounds funny, but isn't it true?

One of the top teams in the league is having trouble with one of the more troubled teams in the league. Unless you think the Bruins are playing down to the Sabres, how else do you explain the fact that Buffalo has now won 2 of their 3 meetings?

This was posted in the post-game thread over on the Bruins board:

"wonder what lindy ruff had to say in the second intermission!"

"guys, if you don't win this game, i'm coaching next practice in the nude."

Just finished watching. Holy hell.

So we see, from 5 minutes in all the way to three left in the first, a legitimate-looking hockey team. Puck movement, purposeful cohesion, hits, shots... Then a ****ing abominable snooze fest in the second, in typical fashion. Looked like garbage.

Then a good third period? I'm just confused.

Stafford played well. Myers pretty decent. Ennis, too. Vanek not so much.

I don't even know what to say, really. Sorry for not bringing much to the table tonight here, but I'm tired and well aware that this was an aberration.

Simply that the two wins were the two best games the team has played all season. And in both wins, there were portions of the game (large portions) where we got dominated.

Not sure where you're trying to go with this. In a literal sense, it's an awful premise and quite a reach. In an analytical sense, it's probably more good fortune than anything else.

Gotta love how Myers blows Paille up and apologizes to him right after. Vagina McGinestein.

"He was trying to keep his balance, he wasn't apologizing"

Yes he was.

"Stop reaching jbuds"

It's not a reach.

Difference between Bos and the last 3 games? Someone scored against Boston. Team still looked outclassed at times still looked lethargic at times and still laid a secon period egg. Maybe Boston inspires them? So let's fire Lindy and get a coach they fear an hate as much as Boston so we can see some better hockey.

good - Miller. I swear he made a few saves facing backwards, Myers, Ennis and Stafford goals were an unexpected surprise. Sabres fans boo-ing and chanting as the 2nd ended

bad- faceoffs. Bruins have good centres but its getting embarrassing

ugly- Sabres D the first 2 periods just skating in circles

Actually, I agree with the OP. After the hit on Miller last year, the Bruins are the enemy. John Scott beat down Thorton in the first meeting and set the tone for this rivalry but that energy hasn't affected any other games this season.

I don't think a Bruin touched Miller last night, but we ran Khudobin 3 or 4 times
