I think this team needs a good long period of play at home to really get settled in. They've really had a shit schedule.

Looking at the stretch from November 25th to December 14th, they play 8 out of 10 games at home, with their 2 away games in NY and Washington. 5 straight at home at the start of December. That's not a lot of travel.

Should help them settle in, get more practices, get in their routine, etc.

Team is pretty inconsistent right now. That will get smoothed out in time.

Not going to apologize for this lead. We had a number of games we outplayed the other team and got nothing. Probably deserve a result when they haven't been good

They haven’t had many opportunities to do so yet .
Their breakout is shit right now and can’t get through the neutral zone with any speed .
There are zero options for cross ice pass coming out of their zone to hit a winger with speed . There is always someone on top of the person with the puck and zero passing options to hit an open player with speed. That or the neutral zone is so clogged up that it’s hard to generate anything off the rush. It’s frustrating. Looks like they are countering it by trying to carry it into the zone , button booking and feeding the point and funneling to the net

This sport is funny. Sometimes you play great and lose. Sometimes you play like crap and win. Hopefully they can close this one out. I'll take 4 out of 6 points on a western Canada trip.

I really don't see this as a bad game. Previous years Devils/Oilers games have always been a track-meet going back and forth. To me it seems like Keefe doesn't want that and once we got that goal to lead he went to the tried and true Devils strategy of being defensive and looking for counters.

Of the 23 shots of the Oilers I would say only half of them were actually dangerous.
