My Dazed & Confused HS text group refers to Monty as ‘Softgomery’ but I never used it here because I know Monty wife didn’t like the stuff said about Monty and always wanting him fired

I don’t blame her - glad it worked out for them

Monty seems like a nice man I just don’t want him near this team

Sweeney got lucky - had he signed Monty to extension he would have been in trouble

Sacco gets what he’s got and where they play
Gotta give it to you DKH, reading back to a month ago you had it right.
Montgomery took his soap opera to St. Louis
where they enjoy the show.
"Sacco Magic" and there's buzz in Boston again!

I know I will get roasted for this, but that's never stopped me before.

Now that Bob Boughner has been relieved of his duties with Detroit, I would consider him for assistant coach in Boston.
Dom you always have the inside scoop. You're a student of the game, and a teacher to many of us.
WWDD
What Would Dom Do!?!

They are good to very good healthy

Monty is a slacks and tassels guy. He’s fine with a loaded tesn but To succeed they need to kill the middle of their half of us and attack it on the other side

They were a boring F’n hot mess under Monty and Sacco who grew up here knows it’s

Gotta be tough, disciplined, structured and enough talent to win

Excited to see them with a healthy Hampus, Pasta and Poitras after a good stint in AHL

Watching the absolute meltdown that some are having over Monty is nothing short of hysterical

I haven't followed the Blues with him in charge, is he not getting the results they hoped?
I haven't either. No idea how it's going for him and nor do I care.
He loved being here when he didn't have to strain his brain. When Bergy, Dk etc were spoon fed to him he looked good but let's face it, just about anyone with would until he had to actually make decisions, that is when the shit hit the fan.
Funny that St. Louis thinks he's the shit.
Clock is ticking.
It's gonna be entertaining then.

Sacco is 11-4- 1 but he’s local and a Broons guy

I want an outsider from Mrssippy who never played for Bruins or even hockey but who’s gonna come in and kick over stuff

Monty was such an outsider he never consulted Kelly and Sacco or his letter wearers he was splitting up Bergeron and Marchand, and playing Foligno on first line RW among his Helter Skelter clinching game 5 lineup

Monty was an outsider who didn’t hire one of his guys as assistant coaches. It’s like they needed someone to stand behind the bench and smile, stay out of the way and let Bergeron, Marchand, Foligno etc run the team

Then when up 3-1 he decides to do stuff but doesn’t discuss it with anyone - a hunch

Crazy

Monty was such an outsider….

Good point. Ty Anderson mentioned something like this too. Said Monty would head back to St Louis in the off season, wasn’t a Bruins fan fan (like Butch was growing up) or tried to understand local/Bruins culture (like Julien did).

I think that in year one of Monty they played for Bergy more than anything, last year goaltending helped them stay in the mix and this year Monty checked out early, very early and just waited for Don to pull the plug. There is still work to do but Sacco has them looking after defense and playing physical. I say fix the PP, Swayman stronger in the second half (it will happen), 28 and 91 settling in also vs first half and they can win the division. FLA has played lots of hockey and it will catch up with them. Leafs are still….the Leafs……NJ might be the team to beat outside of the Bruins. We shall see.

I live in the past - I was watching Die Hard last night and have plastic snowmen from the 70’s in my yard

I grew up playing 3 months of pond hockey

Those are two wildly interesting stories man and makes me honestly wonder if your career is maybe something you should write a book about
I've had a lot of people tell me that. @DKH Has told me several times. Unfortunately, 90 percent of the stories I could never tell.

My favorite though is I once had a Bruins draft pick tell me with a straight face that he was "a better f'ing player than f'ing Jake DeBrusk and wondered why Bruins fans were showing him no respect". Was the first time in my life I was lost for words but I found some: go out on the ice and prove them wrong.

Never played in the NHL and couldn't cut it in the AHL.

That just reminded me of another. In 2011, I polled OHL GM's and asked who was the top OHL defenceman to go in the NHL draft, Dougie Hamilton or Ryan Murphy? 12 of them, over half wrote, in Scott Harrington. Talk about a do over!
