Here is a scenario that maybe no one has really thought about and I'm just thinking outside the box a little bit but, wasn't there speculation that Alfredsson wanted a 2 year contract extension? Well, what if Murray and Alfie together decided that maybe because Ottawa can't make a push this year because of finances that maybe Alfie take a run with a different team this year like Det or Bos and then next year he re-signs with Ottawa when maybe there is more money available for them to make a real push for a cup......just a thought and maybe wishful thinking on my part.

You have to admit though that this whole thing just doesn't smell right.
