I am not really looking to add to this team, because of the concern of upsetting a tight-knit room (thought at the right price, I'd love to add Jagr.) I would have taken Nabby back as a goaltending insurance policy, because he knew most of the guys in the room. But what would you say if Buffalo continued to embrace the tank and offered us Moulson for a reasonable return that wouldn't affect our playof push? Would you want him back, since he'd probably slot in easily and would bolster our F depth, without upsetting chemistry (perhaps even increasing it.)

That ship has sailed and I don't anything to do with his contract.

In light of the whole YES YES YES chant thing...

Remember when he got demoted off the Tavares line (for Josh Bailey) during the playoff series against the Pens? Remember when he put up one goal in ten playoff games with the Wild, and then consistently was given less ice time as the playoffs went on, and then eventually scratched?

Sadly, Moulson is filler.

No no no.. very nice guy met him a few times but nothing more than a power play specialist. I don't want our first line to go back to being outscored by other teams 2nd and 3rd lines because they can't get out of their own zone. Moulson is great at scoring garbage goals, has that knack around the net and is a good locker room guy. A complete liability in all other facets

Moulson has played in the playoffs twice; with two different teams. He looked even slower, less effective with poorer defensive play than he normally does in the regular season.

Moulson is a great "front of the net presence" but is bad and hurts the team everywhere else on the ice.

Lee is a great "front of the net presence" he is solid and does NOT hurt the team anywhere else.

this. Do not want back.

We need to let this guy go. He's not a good hockey player.

Also, there's no way Snow would have traded him if it upset Tavares. I'm sure he was fine with it because he probably knew they weren't going to win with him on the 1st line. Don't forget, he was awful at the end of 2013, the playoffs, and the beginning of the 2014 season.

Moulson is a good player, but he is no longer an Isles type player. Since Moulson was traded the Isles lines have changed and he would not have an automatic spot in the 1st or 2nd line. I am pretty sure he will stay in Buffalo for a couple of more years as his contract is not up until 2018 I believe.

There are players who elevate their games around playoff time. Matt Moulson is NOT one of them. PASS

Very easy no. Moulson wouldn't fit into our lineup. Too many guys are playing too well and we don't need someone who brings more negatives than positives.

They are still very good friends I guarantee it upset Tavares. Everyone just knows that winning comes first with Tavares so if it translates to a better team he is okay with it.

How about the fact he's signed for another 4 years @ $5 million a year.... With that contract he belongs on the rangers not the islanders.

what role would moulson play in his hypothetical return? There's no room for him on the 1st line; we have a better version of him in Lee, and there really isn't any player on this team that moulson is better than, so there really isn't any point in bringing him back.

he was a perennial 30 goal scorer because of JT, and that is fully evident now due to the fact that he only has what? 8G this entire season? I like matty moulson, and i was sad to see him go, but I'm not sad he's gone.

his game has tailed off significantly, not solely his stats. And the next four years will be much much worse. He couldn't make this Isles team.

Grabner is probably the 13th forward. Maybe Grabovski. And CMac has played better than BOTH these guys.

Before thinking of someone to add, let's ask ourselves if that player is better than our 13th, 14th forwards.

Bailey - Tavares - Okposo
Lee - Nelson - Strome
Grabovski - Nielsen - Kulemin
Martin - Cizikas - Clutterbuck

#13 - Grabner
#14 - McDonald

then: Boulton, Zolnierczyk (liked him when he filled in - great energy)

no way Moulson is good enough to make the Isles. Most guys that are "available" will likely also be not-good-enough.
