I mean let's be honest, he's playing with Suzuki because he couldn't carry other lines. I just think we should have waited for Slaf being more consistent. He's often late on plays and needs to be more aggressive with his size. Suzuki is 5'11 and he hits like a 6'3 playerI never said he's worth Suzuki money and spoiler alert he's making less. At 8 years Slaf wasn't going to come cheap and once again you're looking at things the wrong way. Cap % is what negotiations are centered around now. That's the way you can compare apples to apples.
Also Slafkovsky will be probably improve his offensive numbers this year now that his play has picked up and he's back on 1st line. You'd be looking at low 8s if trying to lock him up for 8 years.
