So, I could be wrong, but I was operating under the assumption that all the players in the new NCAA 14 game were based on real life players, just with changed names etc.

If true, ECU is on the up and up, two seasons from now (I'm playing as Bama and am in 2015) their 98 overall, 300 pound QB is gonna put together a Heisman Campaign for the ages.

I'm looking at the ECU roster and their biggest QB listed is redshirt freshman Ethan Long at 6'4'' 249 lbs (never heard of the guy even though he played for a high school about 20-30 minutes away from me). He has nothing on the former Kentucky QB Jared Lorenzen, aka Hefty Lefty, the Pillsbury Throwboy, Battleship Lorenzen, Quarter Got Back, etc. 6'4'' 300+ lb QB.:laugh:

And why use the computer generated names when you can just download the edited rosters?

Hospital stays are no fun just in case anybody was wondering.

ICU stays are no funner especially when you're knocked out for three days, they randomly wake you from a partial coma, ask you to go for a walk, and then once you've slowly paraded your way around the nurses desk did several nurses inform you that your backside was on full display.

But seriously, I hope everything is going fine. Any type of medical visit sucks.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Still here and probably will be for awhile. Nothing too serious, just some auto immune disease has been kicking the **** out of me for about a month, so I'm here getting a bunch of tests done and trying to figure out what exactly it is and how to get better. Fortunately nothing like what Novacane described has happened quite yet. That sounds brutal

So with the very last tax free weekend EVER coming up, thought it'd be a good time to replace my 5-year old Lenovo Ideapad Y510 that's gone through two hinge replacements, a hard drive, and two screen replacements with a brand new system. I'm considering these two systems - any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Touch

In full disclosure, I have no idea if this was his doing or not. Just thought it was funny.

Anyway, I don't have experience with Thinkpads myself, but I'd probably go with the first (less expensive) option. Though it depends on how you plan to use the machine, as your primary computer or a more mobile option with a primary desktop. It seems the second one is meant to be more of a compliment device, with the thinner design, slightly less (.2 lbs) weight, and the solid-state drive. Both processors seem pretty powerful, and unless you do heavy video editing or other high-use functions most of the time, there probably won't be too much of a difference between the two. And while the second one comes with twice the memory, it doesn't look like you can add any more than the preinstalled 8gb, so that's a nice option to be able to upgrade up to 12 gb on the first one. Then the hard drive differences are pretty clear, 320gb SATA for the first, 128gb SSD for the second. Once again, I think it come down to weather or not this will be your primary/only computer or the laptop compliment to a desktop.

If this is all plainly obvious to you, just carry on then
And I'm no expert on computers by any means, so anyone feel free to correct what I wrote.

It wasn't. The new tax bill the state general assembly passed kills off tax free weekends. I'm leaning towards the 431s for many of the reasons you mentioned - the primary problem is all the horror stories I've heard about Windows 8 on a non-touch screen. Granted, Blue is coming out and that's supposed to cure those shortcomings. I suppose I could also nuke Windows 8 and install Windows 7 instead...

Or you could always install Vista.:sarcasm:
