Okay guys, it's been civil, but it's time to move on from the politics. There are some rules we have to at least pretend to care about.

Here I was about to suggest a within-the-rules politics thread instead of mixing it in with the lounge

Speaking of Bojangles, they've made their way into Florida. Unfortunately the one near where I'm staying opens next week so I had to settle for McDonald's for breakfast instead.
You should look up the Yelp reviews for the one in Yanceyville. It may very well be the single worst fast food place I have ever been. Seriously the Maya Rudolf Bon Qui Qui character would be a much better employee than anyone at that placeBowl of frosted flakes.
Every Bojangles I've had outside of NC has been terrible.
They've been in Florida for a while iirc, just not everywhere in the state yetSpeaking of Bojangles, they've made their way into Florida. Unfortunately the one near where I'm staying opens next week so I had to settle for McDonald's for breakfast instead.

See, I think that's a better idea than an entire ban on discussion. It would allow those who don't want to hear it to avoid the topic while still allowing the discussion of major political events (like say, the abolishment of the Department of Education). As long as the discussion remains civil, of course.
So probably heresy since good Bo's is legitimately top notch, but Bo's might be the most inconsistent restaurant chain I've ever seen. You should look up the Yelp reviews for the one in Yanceyville. I got my Mom Bojangles yesterday for breakfast. Today's breakfast was homemade sourdough bread and jelly.Speaking of Bojangles, they've made their way into Florida. Unfortunately the one near where I'm staying opens next week so I had to settle for McDonald's for breakfast instead.
Biscuitville is pretty solid to me when I'm in the mood for a fast food breakfast. Though after I started hitting the gym like a psycho that's rare at best unless I did a 6 am leg day. Trying to eat clean can drive me nuts lol.My folks eat at the BO at least a few times a week for breakfast and do complain about inconsistency. I know this is sacrilege but I like Biscuitville's new and improved menu better now when in the mood for a biscuit. First Watch is my overall breakfast chain fav though.
Speaking of folks, my Dad had a meltdown because he couldn't figure out how to watch Yellowstone last night at 8 pm. In his defense, he thought a Paramount show would be on Paramount+ but alas it is not. They no longer have the Paramount channel. He couldn't make it to 10 pm for the CBS rerun of it. Not a fan, as it's too violent for me, so I had to research it. He's all set for next week. I rented this week's episode on Prime for him to improve his mood.

These are big facts. Bojangles when it's good is the toppest of top tier. Bad Bojangles is barely edible. I live near the one in Apex and they're usually pretty good, although I once got a cajun filet SANDWICH instead of a biscuit when I went through the drive through and it ruined my whole night. So probably heresy since good Bo's is legitimately top notch, but Bo's might be the most inconsistent restaurant chain I've ever seen.
The one in Apex was solid when I lived there as was the one off 70 in Raleigh near the brewery I worked at. But here in Winston? The one off Northwest is a shit show possibly rivaling the one you're talking about. The one off Peters Creek is decent, not the Apex/Raleigh locations but hell of a lot better than Northwest
It's sometimes inconsistent within the same store even but I concure...fresh Bo's is the BEST thing ever, but mushy fries or dry/overcooked chicken makes it one of the least satisfying, and there's no way to know which you're getting until you've gotten itThese are big facts. We are asking less of our brains. They are as capable as they ever have been, but we use them less.I swear we're getting dumber as a species.

I think some of the difficulty comes from marketing. Instead of black bean burgers, you get "Impossible meat."Which is ironic, because we've never had access to quicker sources of information. It takes less than 30 seconds to find any piece of information you could want to learn about, but even that mortecum of effort is apparently too much work, so people are taking everything they see on TikTok, Twitter, etc at face value.
And stuff that was obvious in the past, like the fact that butter contains milk, is no longer apparently so.
Its funny, I was just talking to my wife about this last night. I remember when we were growing up, we were routinely taught to not trust anything on the internet. If we were putting a book report together, a website was never a good enough source, we needed to follow it all the way back to its source material to verify its legitimacy.Which is ironic, because we've never had access to quicker sources of information.
