Can't help but think about Jake Evans wisdom here. He did what he thought was best for him re-signing in a city he loves with teammates that value him. He refused the money narrative pushed by the NHLPA and the agents that it's all about the salary and nothing else and now he's happy about it. Rantanen loved it in Colorado, they wanted to keep him but he asked for for more money because of external pressure and now he's in a bad situation because of it.
I'm far from a millionnaire, maybe money gets to the head of those athletes and once they start to get cash they simply always want more, but I cant imagine a scenario in which I'd prefer to win 1M$ in a city or a team I'm not a good fit just because of ''the market''.
